WAL-MART SUPERCENTER TO HOST FISHING SEMINAR PRIOR TO EVERSTART SERIES EVENT

JASPER, Texas (Feb. 5, 2004) — Some of FLW Outdoors’ most successful professional anglers will offer tournament-winning tips and techniques Sunday, Feb. 22 when they host the Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors Fishing and Automotive Clinic prior to the EverStart Series Central Division tournament in Jasper. The clinic is presented by BFGoodrich Tires and Castrol.

Sunday’s clinic will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 800 W. Gibson in Jasper. The free clinic is designed for people of all ages and skill levels, and participants are invited to ask the pros questions about fishing and automotive topics. The event precedes the EverStart Series tournament that is scheduled to take place Feb. 25-28 on Sam Rayburn. The 2004 EverStart Series Central Division is presented by Schick Quattro.

The clinic is held in the Tire and Lube Express department at Wal-Mart. The first hour focuses on specific techniques the anglers use, including tips on tying knots, casting and selecting tackle. During the second hour, anglers answer questions, pose for photos and sign autographs. Participants may also enter a drawing for goodie bags filled with sponsor products, shirts and hats. The drawing takes place before the tournament weigh-in Feb. 28 at Wal-Mart.

Presenting anglers tentatively scheduled to attend include Team BFGoodrich Tires members Scott Martin of Clewiston, Fla., and Chad Grigsby of Colon, Mich., and Team Castrol members Bobby Curtis of Siloam Springs, Ark., and David Dudley of Manteo, N.C. Dudley’s past wins include the lucrative Ranger M1 tournament, having taken home the top prize of $700,000 cash in 2002, and the 2003 FLW Tour Championship, where he earned a first-place check for $500,000.

“Getting involved in the communities hosting the EverStart Series has been a great way for sponsors to give back and to thank the anglers and tournament fans who have been loyal consumers of our products for many years,” said Castrol representative Tracy Curtis. “Fishing is a wonderful family activity that has no boundaries on who can participate. We are dedicated to helping anglers of all skill levels learn new tricks of the trade and promoting the sport to a new generation of anglers.”
