WAL-MART SUPERCENTERS TO HOST PRO ANGLER APPEARANCES PRIOR TO WAL-MART FLW TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

RICHMOND, Va. (Aug. 28, 2003) — Some of FLW Outdoors’ professional anglers will offer tournament-winning tips and techniques Saturday, Sept. 6 and Sunday, Sept. 7, when they make appearances at five Wal-Mart Supercenters in the Richmond area. The professional anglers will be in town for the Wal-Mart FLW Tour World Championship and Outdoor Show presented by Castrol that is taking place Sept. 10-13 on the James River. The outdoor show, which will include 140 exhibits offering great buys on everything from crankbaits to bass boats, is scheduled to take place from 1-9 p.m. daily, Sept. 10-13. Championship weigh-ins start at 5 p.m. each day. The outdoor show and daily weigh-ins will be held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, and admission is free.

In addition to informal sessions with individual anglers, the Supercenters will also host the Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors Fishing and Automotive Clinic presented by BFGoodrich Tires, Castrol, EverStart Batteries, 7 UP, Snickers and Fujifilm. The clinic on Saturday, Sept. 6 will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Wal-Mart on 7430 Bell Creed Road. On Sunday, Sept. 7, the clinic will be at the 7901 Brook Road location from 1-3 p.m.

Presenting anglers include Team Castrol members Bobby Curtis of Siloam Springs, Ark., and David Dudley of Manteo, N.C.; Team Snickers angler John Sappington of Wyandotte, Okla.; and Team Land O’Lakes angler Carl Svebek of Siloam Springs, Ark. Dudley is the winner of the lucrative Ranger M1 tournament, having taken home the top prize of $700,000. Sappington won the 2002 Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship, which landed him a check for $260,000.
