As a veteran-owned company, Wiley X, Inc.
knows the importance of supporting America's paralyzed veterans. So Wiley X
continues its support of the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) and has
renewed sponsorship of three key programs for 2013 - the PVA National Trapshoot Circuit, the PVA National Bass Tour and the PVA
Hand Cycling Racing Team. As part of its continuing sponsorship, Wiley X will
be providing its high performance protective eyewear as featured prizes
throughout the 2013 season of PVA shooting, fishing and hand cycling events.
On the PVA National Trapshoot Circuit, disabled
shooters and able-bodied shooters compete as equals in challenging trapshoot events. In its 17th year, this exciting circuit
will include competitive shooting events around the country, where the new WX
Valor Model #CHVAL06 - a member of Wiley X's battle-proven Changeable Series -
will be worn by staff, directors and volunteers. In addition, Wiley X
protective eyewear will be included in prize packages for the winners. These
advanced glasses combine crystal clear vision with protection that meets the
new GL-PD 10-12 MCEP standard (which supersedes the MIL-PRF-31013 Ballistic Standard)
for combat protective eyewear, as well as ANSI Z87.1 High Velocity and High
Mass Impact Safety standards for occupational-grade protection. This Changeable
Series model is ideal for shooting sports, because it comes as a three-lens
package (Smoke Grey, Clear, Light Rust) that allows shooters to switch lenses
based on light conditions.
Wiley X will again support the PVA National Bass Tour with its new Climate
Control™ Series WX Echo Model #CCECH04, combining Gloss Black frames with
Polarized Emerald Mirror lenses. These state-of-the-art fishing glasses will be
provided to staff, directors and volunteers, as well as winning anglers. The
PVA Tour consists of seven tournaments, each consisting of an Open/Team
competition for angers wishing to compete from a boat and a Bank Competition
for anglers who prefer to fish from shore. This WX Echo model combines advanced
lenses based on Wiley X's Filter 8™ polarizing technology with Wiley X's
patented soft, removable foam Facial Cavity™ seal that blocks out wind, dust
and reflected light. This combination eliminates glare, reduces eye fatigue on
the water and enhances the angler's ability to spot fish, underwater structure
and bottom contour. Wiley X's ANSI-Z87.1 safety rating (standard in every pair
of glasses it manufactures), protects fishermen from a wide range of dangers
found on the water, from airborne debris and low-hanging braches to flying,
hook-laden lures.
Wiley X will also play an important role in PVA's hand cycling events, where
these "road warriors" race wheel-to-wheel just inches from the
pavement. Wiley X sunglasses help racers read the road surface, while providing
serious protection against a wide range of hazards like airborne debris and
kicked-up rocks.
"Wiley X is proud to be associated with PVA and honored to support its
shooting, fishing and hand cycling competitions," said Wiley X Co-Owner
Myles Freeman, Jr. "These events celebrate America's outdoor heritage and
encourage men and women to excel - regardless of what physical challenges they
may face. We applaud the efforts of these athletes and the many staff and
volunteers around the country who make these events possible,"
added Freeman.
