I want to make those of you interested aware that I am no longer working at Tackle It, in Lakeport, CA. The reasons I have moved on are simply to concentrate on my business of guiding on Clear Lake and to allow the owners, Ed and June Clarke to become more involved in the running of their business.
What I have enjoyed most over the past several years is meeting you hard cores and trying to help out while you were either visiting our pond or ordering goods over the phone. It has also been real cool seeing those of you I fished against back in the late 80's. Talk about geeserville...
My wife Deb and I live on Kelsey Creek near the state park and are not going anywhere so when you are sightfishing, look up and wave. I love fishing Clear Lake and really enjoy doing what I do...helping people catch fish.
Thank you again for your support and association over the past 3 years. I have tried my best to help anyone who has ever asked and will continue to do so. I hope you will all continue to give the shop in Lakeport a chance to serve you.
Fish on,
Ross

Ross,
I meant to come by and say howdy this past week but did not get a chance.
You were a great asset to the store and I know you will be greatly missed.
Good luck with your guide business and I will send some folk your way.
If you would be interested I am hosting a Fishing Expo on the 15th and am looking for some guides to promote their guide services. I will send you an email about it.
Good luck again.

Ross,
We are sorry to see you go but happy to see you getting to do more of what you love...FISH! You have helped take my game to a new level with all of the tips and advice you have share with me and all of the guys here in Ukiah (Rod says hey!) and we wanted you to know we will miss visiting with you at the shop. I hope you and Deb get to enjoy hanging out together a little more often and your business thrives with you being able to spend more time on the water.
One thing that always impressed me was that you helped people find fish even if you had a tourney or trip coming up the at the same time. How many of us can say that about ourselves. You were always very helpful to me and my boy Casey. Do you remember the day we came into the shop after a tough day a few months ago and you heard me telling Ed about Casey getting frustrated and throwing his Loomis cranking stick down in the boat? You came over and put your arm around his shoulder and led him into the back of the store and talked to him in private for a good 5-10 minutes.
I asked him what you said to him and he told me it was between him and you. But low and behold, ever since that day, Casey hasn't thrown his rod or even made a bad face while fishing since that day. We have had a few tough days since then and he has been very good about keeping positive. I really think whatever you talked about with him made a difference and I want to thank you for that. I think it goes to show you how much respect Casey has for you (you can include me on that too) and that, I think, is pretty cool for you to have that kind of influence on a 12 year old.
I wish you the best in all you do and hope to see you on Clear Lake once in a while just to say howdy!
