Ultrex Installation question

I’ve run Motorguide for 30 years but spotlock has me tempted to make the switch to Minn Kota. I run a Ranger 520 with a 45” MG Tour 109 almost all the way down, but casual observation looks like the Fortrex mount is a little higher off the deck. I am curious as to what shaft length is recommended / most commonly installed for the Ultrex

I also have a 520 and ran a Fortex with a 45" shaft. Just changed to the Ultrex with a 45" shaft and have no problems. I have the motor set at the end of the mounting bracket and have about 5" before I am at the bottom with the motor all the way down. I know you will be happy with the Ultrex.

I've got a 2004 520vx. I went with the 52" because, when the wind is blowing and I need the spot lock to work it has to be in the water! I've got no problems fishing around it in calm weather.
