fishing for some stripers. It will be my first time out.
what kind of bait and/ or lures works best..
my Uncle (R.I.P.) left me a few surf rods/reel combos and I wanna put them to use!!
any help/hints/tips would be great!!!

Austin, Most of the shoreline at Del Valle is pretty shallow, Walk to the end of the narrows where the lake makes a bend and fish that whole shoreline as its a shallow flat with a drop off within casting range and the trout stack up there. Fantastic lake for large and small mouth, just gotta hit it right. This time of year, throw blades, jerkbaits and senkos. Whats up guys, My father in law is taking me to turlock lake tommarrow. I never been there befor... so, Is it worth fishing for bass in this lake. All the reg web sites state its a trout lake. Any large mouth or smallies in there...

Swim baits and FROGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Wadda jigs/ Senkos for back up. You got 3 right. Chatter bait with a bastrix was money to scoot across beds to see if the were locked on.
