If you connected the 3) 12 volt batteries in parallel the voltage would remain the same but the amp hour capacity of one battery would be multiplied by 3 . Just glad in Florida a WaWa station with ethanol free gas is just a few blocks from the house.

I feel for you guys in California. My ethanol free gas is cheaper than your reg. gas and easier to get.

With todays electronics , live well pumps, air pump, bilge pumps, Minn Kota talons and other assorted things I have plugged into my starting battery I want the biggest I can get. Plus I am retired and fishing for fun more so I seem to sit on the trolling motor all day without cranking the big motor...

I use 20lb floro, 7' Phenix ML rod with either a 1/16 or 1/8 joy tungsten weight , 5/0 ewg or round bend hook.
If I am pitching I change to braid and a 7'6" Phenix XH rod but same rigging.
