Re: Lowrance fish reveal update not working

OK, if you confirmed the 7.0 software is on your unit, just to confirm your StructureScan is set to DownScan under view? You will not see FishReveal on the Sidescan menu, but will on the DownScan menu. If this isn't the problem, then I would do a soft reset. If that didn't work, next would re-instal...

ash, wasn't aware they eliminated the anti-reverse; that is a big mistake. I use the same reel in a two year old version as you can see in the video in my article. You will have to go into the menu options to go to the network, and select for each function (i.e. rpm, gps speed, etc.) that you want to select your engine for the source of that data.

Re: Spinning reels with dual drags

Dennis, You already received great answers, but I will add to what was said. On a spinning reel a front drag is the most reliable and strongest system. Rear drag spinning reels are more prone to failure and are not common as a result. The best solution in my opinion is a quality front drag, set firm...

Any time you have two fishfinders on the same boat, operating on the same frequency, where you are in deep enough water their sonar cones overlap, you will experience cross-talk interference, regardless of the model or brand. A common solution is to run them on different frequencies, as you have alr...

I would also add that just because you have a new boat with new sonar units, do not assume they have the latest software version on them. Check the version and the Lowrance website often to get the full benefit of your units.

Believe it or not, it is also worth pulling off your trolling motor prop and make sure no line or debris is binding the shaft. Also inspect the blades of your trolling motor prop. The 3D is worth the extra dollars, but mainly for the 2D sidescan which is outstanding with the 3D Transducer and 3D Box. What I am saying is that the 2D SideScan is really good, but the 3D SideScan is awesome and worth it if you can afford it and like the best possible pictures. Additionally, there...

You won't regret it, the bass fishing is excellent once you figure out the differences. Just realize there are no threadfin shad for forage; it changes how the bass feed and act. Crayfish are big here, and various other baitfish like sculpin, stickleback, yellow perch, smelt, trout, and many more.
