The point is - they are not focusing on or containing the source. Rather they are using incomplete science to usher policy to basically quarantine the healthy (and trying to validate themselves). Gents - ask them for their application and management plan. Then ask for results and water quality monitoring. If they do not provide, tell they you'll FOIA them. Ask for a supervisor. I've been working to compile data - to show that much of this program is lacking.

Its not a temperature threshold; it has to do with temperature differences. Also - the lake doesn't "physically" turn over. The temperature profile simple becomes consistent throughout the water column.

Delaney - smallmouth and redeye bass are more similar in nature to spotted than largemouth and simply get out competed where they co-occur in CA's foothill lakes (typically). They are also more likely to interbreed - and you end up with a fewer "pure" smallmouth. I do see smallmouth from t...

Gary - for what reason do you think the catalyst is the difference in coho vs kings?
Shad were historically present in Oroville - and I do not know the answer as to why, but presumably the combination of wider fluctuation swings and the growth of the spotted bass population.
