Re: Remembering Dave Roberson
I am really sad to hear about Dave's passing. Although I knew him briefly, I am grateful for having met him. He was a great ambassador for swimbait fishing and a real "stands behind his product" luremaker. A super "class" guy all the way !

Re: Fishing vs Family Tough choice? You decide!
When I think back of all the time I spent with my kids growing up, it's kind of divided into two groups...cheering them on at sporting events, school activities etc. and the time they spent with me fishing. It's all good ! All my kids can finese a worm for bass or toss a sardine to a tuna. Sharing yo...

Re: How many rods do you own?
It's kinda funny...when my wife asks "is that a new rod ?" I always reply "I've had this awhile." Shortly thereafter it seems I am asking is that a new top and she always replies "this old thing ?". Needless to say my garage is plugged with tackle and our closets plugge...

HAVE SWIMBAITS WILL TRAVEL
My boat is locked down for Casitas right now and it is such a pain to get re-inspected that I don't want to break the seal just as the fish are starting to show. If anyone has an empty backseat for the slugfest I would be happy to return the favor.

Vitamin "T" is back !
A trout fisherman just tipped me off that the DFG is resuming the stocking program in selected lakes. Go to DFGCAGOV.COM and you can check out the selected lakes. I was very happy to see that everywhere I throw swimbaits is good to go.

Re: It is time to close one chapter of my life and open anot
Congratulations Ron on your move up to the next level. I have always thought that you have done a great job whenever I have been involved in one of your tourneys. Now that the HBC is moving in a direction that will attract the upper crust of the bass fishing world, I am sure I will be able to watch ...

My bad Mike...I guess it's a federal issue so we are urged to contact our Senators. "SCMA strongly encourages the boating world to ask Senators to co-sponsor S. 2766,the Clean Boating Act of 2008. SCMA urges folks to contact them at 714 633 7581 or visit a special website www.boatblue.org. I am...

Clean Boating Act 2008
My marine mechanic sent me a letter urging me to write to legislators involving the Clean Boating Act. I quess it involves a two thousand dollar fee for all boats in this state to cover normal engine discharges like your cooling system. From my understanding the bill was designed for large comercial...

CLEAR LAKE GUIDE
Due to the possible closure of Lake Casitas, I have decided to try a few days at Clear Lake for this years spring vacation. I plan to fly up,rent a car etc. instead of towing my boat. Can anyone recommend a guide or two...preferably one that likes to throw swimbaits ??

Re: Well it's about time
I think a lot of our boater frustations out there could be eliminated if we just gave everyone a basic I.Q. test before they can operate a boat. Maybe 60 or something.

Re: You know you're hooked on Bass fishing when...
My wife looked out the back window and saw me walking around the backyard practicing my worm "shakin" technique without a rod in my hand...thought I was coming down with some sort of palsey. Fortunately she turned away before I set the hook on the imaginary pressure bite.
Re: Perris??
Mike, I fished in a small club tourney last Saturday. The winner had 21 pounds pulling spider jigs in "real craw" color. Everyone caught a few fish, most guys were "shakin" 4 inch worms or drop shot. Productive areas were off the swim beach on the deep breaks (28 to 42 ft), the bu...

Re: SPRO BBZ QUESTION
I was thinking of removing the rubber tail then opening the last section with a drill or exacto. Then remove the rattles, spackle up the damage, then re-glue the tail to hide any imperfections.

SPRO BBZ QUESTION
I like the way the BBZ (floater) swims as a subtle wake bait. Maybe because I have"nt got bit, I am uncomfortable with the rattles. I am thinking of removing the "ball bearing" sounding balls and replacing them with some clay as not to throw fo the balance. Before I start sugery, has ...

What an experience ! Ken, Ron and all who were apart of this event made this a day I will never forget. At one point I wondered if I would get another bite...at one point I wondered if I could keep the boat right side up. It was great to see the "Trophy" guys and the "Tournement"...

Thanks for the quick responses. If I have some small advantage knowing whats going on with this subtle point that I always see other swimbait guys on, I think I have earned it. Just wondering
While fishing Casitas on Friday the 18th, I observed 3 bass boats with large green brush piles stacked on their stern area. I shut off the engine and watched them for a short period. I fiqured it was probably a local club function to restore some much needed submerged brush. I noticed they were drop...

Quagga Mussel question
Just wondering why is Lake Mathews on the Quagga Mussel Declaration Form? I have always thought this lake was closed to the public. Is the water supplied there from the Colorado River system ?
