Re: FS: 2000 Ranger 488VS (Hull and Trailer Only)
I forgot to mention that I also have 1 butt seat and 2 fold down pedestal seats. *EDIT: Boat and trailer has clean title , I didn't have insurance so I was SOL on this one. The only things left on the boat are the stock gauges on the dash (all worked except for speedometer), bilge pump, live well pu...

FS: 2000 Ranger 488VS (Hull and Trailer Only) SOLD!
SOLD. Thanks for looking. 2000 Ranger 488VS, hull and trailer only. Located in San Jose. White with blue/teal trim. The carpet was redone a year ago with grey carpet. It also has the Ranger flipping deck add-on and I also installed retractable rod straps in the front. My boat was stolen a few months...

Re: anyone useing a minn-kotta terrova with i-pilot
I've had the Terrova for the last two years but don't have the older AP or the new i-Pilot. I can't comment about that. However, I do agree with other people that, in general, power driven trolling motors are not well suited for bass fishing. It works pretty good and there are some cools things abou...

Re: Humminbird 997 combo question
I had my 997 in the front for a little while, too. It takes way to long to cover water on the TM. Since the SI doesn't work well under 2mph, you'll need to have your TM on high and keep a straight path for a view of the bottom. However, keep in mind that when mounting your transducer on the transom ...

weird thing happen with trim while running
the motor is a 99 mercury 200hp efi on a 99 ranger 488vs. i was out on the delta last week and i was trimming up while i was on plane like usual. once i neared full trim, the trim gets stuck on "up" position and keeps going up with my motor running and i totally lose all control of the boa...

Re: Boat raffle
I believe to make it legal you would you need give a free ticket to anyone that asks for it and make the $100 a "donation". Kind of defeats the purpose but I was told that some time ago when I was setting up a raffle for something else. It's kind of like any other drawing when you buy prod...

Re: Help...Triton Owners past/current
I found a 488VS about month and a half ago just under 10K. The electronics and TM were junk, but that wasn't that big of a deal. I also spent 2K for carpet and deck extension as I couldn't bare the dark green carpet. We all say we don't care about what it looks like, but I'm sure you care inside, ha...

Re: 3 day tournaments
There's also a short series of articles from the FLW website that kind of prep you for Co-Angler experience if you've never done it at all. I read them all and it's really more of an etiquette and prep article rather than actual fishing strategy.

Re: New Curado
I have both the 200E and 100D's. I think the 200E's are a little smoother and cast slightly farther for me. However, I think the 100D's are more comfortable for me especially since I have smaller hands. Also, I like the 100's since you never really need the line capacity of the 200. Or at least I do...

Re: motor hours
I bought a 2000 with about 350 hours. Aside from the hours, I believe a thorough interrogation of the owner would be very helpful. Ask what lakes he mainly fishes. Larger bodies of water means they'll be more likely to be running the motor at high RPM's to cover more ground. Someone who prodominantl...
