Lower Unit Problem or Service Residue?
I just noticed a small (footprint size) oil stain under my prop on my garage floor. The stain was still wet with a light brown oil. Taking a closer look at the floor, I noticed about 3 or 4 other dried oil stains from previous trips. I just took my outboard in for a 100hr service about 2 months ago....

Re: Lunker punker?
I haven't had that problem and I've been throwing the punker quite a bit lately. I started with 25lb mono and now am using 80lb braid after a big striper broke off the mono and took my punker. What type of line are you using, flouro? Flourocarbon sinks so that could cause your problem if you are usi...

Re: How do you guys launch at steep ramps?
I know it sounds like the opposite of what you should do, but if the bow is lower than the roller, the trailer is too deep in the water. That is why your boat can swing to the side off center of the trailer. What you want to do, is pull the trailer forward until the bow can clear the roller, then at...

Re: Need some important Clear Lake recommendations - Food!
Forgot one last question, feel kind of stupid to ask, but one of my buddies wants to know if there is a Starbucks in the area?

Any break-in period for new transmission?
After 144K miles my transmission went out. Just got a "new" factory remanufactured one put in and my mechanic said it's ok to start towing my bassboat right away since it doesn't weigh all that much. What do you guys think? Should I wait until I put some mileage on first? Don't want to do ...

Want to remove alot of water spots from my Mercury cowling. Will the No Sweat Mist H20 spot remover do any damage to the graphics/stickers when I spray it on the cowling? Thanks for any information or experience that you can share.

The big 4-0! Need suggestions for a fishing trip
I'll try to keep this short, but I need your help planning a fishing trip later this fall. Me and 5 buddies all turn 40 this year. Re: Folsom this weekend ?
I was on the lake on Saturday, fun fishing with my son and his buddy and followed the 5 mph limit the whole time, so stayed in the main body. It was killing me to see others flying around at full speed (fishermen and pleasure boaters) and I really wanted to join them. I decided not to because it was...

Re: a little more information
I noticed the squeaking noise is coming from the right wheel and it goes away whenever I apply the breaks like at a stop sign. Thanks.

Trailer problem or not - go or no go?
Last time out I heard some louder than usual squeaking sounds from my trailer. When I got home, I touched the hub and it wasn't hot, just warm to the touch. Then I jacked up each wheel one at a time to try to spin it. The right wheel would not spin freely and only moved when I pushed it but made a s...
