Rainshadow blanks and Alps components are definitely the best bang for the buck in today's market when it comes to building custom rods.

Your right Keith, Allen is always on the cutting edge and is always thinking of ways to improve his baits. He used to design baits for Strike King so he definitely knows what he's doing.

Actually I talked to Allen a few days ago and he said he was working on a 12" Suicide Glide but I don't know if he's finished development or what the particulars are on the bait.

Hey George, Just give Allen a call and he'll take good care of you. I'm sure the Dirty Donkey will kick butt down there. Also ask him about his "Suicide Glide" Awesome swim bait , he just came out with a 7 " version plus the original 9".

I got one of the prototypes to throw and I've got to say if you like big bass and top water this is a must bait. If you don't have the Dirty Donkey II in your arsenal your definitely missing the boat.

FYI . I talked to Allen and he told me that the baits are going to retail in the stores somewhere between $70 to $75. At the moment he has a introductory price directly from ABT for $60.00 until they go out to the retailers. Believe me they are well worth the money if your hunting for big topwater f...

Re: New Dirty Donkey
Charley's assessment of the Dirty Donkey is right on. I was fortunate enough to talk Allen out of one of his prototypes and fished it for three afternoons. I was able to catch numerous fish between 3 and 6 with 4 over 7. It is one bad *** big fish bait. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/dpapike...

Re: Gary Klein Quantum flipping rod
No difference that is noticable. I have yet to have anyone come back and complain about casting distance. You could conceivably lose some distance if the transition guide set-up were placed too close together with to much angle. It's all about proper guide spacing.

Re: Gary Klein Quantum flipping rod
Two of the biggest advantages of a spiral wrap (when under load) is the absence of torque on the blank and the guides once the line transitions underneath thereby eliminating the need for a double foot running guide, secondly by going to a single foot running guide your making the rod tip faster and ...
