Thanks Dan,
Is there a fix? Shall I try a light wipe of oil on the inner race?
Or does it get dirt in there that needs to be flushed out somehow? I've heard you're not really supposed to lube them or they stop working.

Curado 200 I makes clicking noise when reeling??
I've had two of these make a clicking noise when reeling. It sounds like a loop of line is sticking out of the spool and ticking as it touches the frame. But, it does not make any noise when free spooling (casting) and I looked closely and there was no loop of line. Any ideas? Pinion bearing? It hap...

Re: need new axle
I bought a replacement axle for $150 complete with hubs but had to weld on my own leaf-spring plates. I took down all the dimensions of the axle tube and spindles, hubs etc. and took them to a Trailer Barn store. The guy told me that they "build to order" since there are so many different ...

Re: Images from NEW Humminbird ONIX Series
Are the captured images higher resolution than the display?
I.E. the Onix series is listed as 768x1024 LCD resolution, but is that the resolution of the captured image? Or will it look better if I show them on a 1920x1080 monitor?

Re: Old Transducers
I had two in my Skeeter. I was able to knock one loose by hitting it on the side with a hammer. The other one was installed into a small pocket in the fiberglass (factory flasher unit??) and that one was very difficult to remove. I ended up drilling holes in it, chiseling out the big pieces, then gr...

Re: U.S. Open draw
Hey Billy, The pairing cards were a great idea. As far as making the fishing times feel more equal, I guess you could randomize all three days? Somebody is always going to get the short stick. I thought things went very smoothly. The real-time digital leaderboard is a cool idea, they had it at the L...

Re: Does it matter what type of steering fluid u use on bass
In an emergency you can put any 'non-flamable' liquid in there. However, from what I understand the hydraulic-steering specific oil is a certain viscosity and using power-steering fluid or ATF or something else may make it difficult or impossible to steer. Its such a critical component of your boat ...

Re: Lucas Oil Summer Classic
There were a couple of minor hiccups with the draw on Sunday, but otherwise I thought everything else went really well. The launch and weigh-ins were quick and the fish were taken care of very well. The real-time leader board was cool, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The fishing was gre...

Sonar on or off when lifting trolling motor out of water?
Do I need to turn off my H-bird unit every time I lift my trolling motor between spots?? I've always assumed that having it "on" while out of the water is hard on the transducer. (Well, not as hard on it as ramming it into rocks then blaming it on your partner when it breaks off, but I wou...

Re: replacing battery tray
I like to use 3M Marine Fastcure 2500, its a white polyurethane. Its very strong and flexible. I use it to plug up the old holes, then put some on the new screws going in to seal them up too. It also keeps the screws from loosening. I got it at Home Depot. Make sure you drill the hole big enough, if...

Yeah, if they pull any air, they can't push any water.
Turn the impeller by hand when you get the cartridge off, it should turn freely.
Good luck.

Re: Livewell pumps
I dont think there is any avoiding taking things apart down there.
Pulling the motor/impeller off of the valve body is the easiest check. If you see junk in there, you should probably take the valves out and clean them too.

Live well timer question (?)
I have a '99 Skeeter SX186 that I just got running and had a couple questions. When I first go to fill the livewells in the morning, it has a hard time priming the pumps. I installed two new Johnson 1000gph "basspirator" livewell pumps and brand new Flow-Rite valves to replace the original...

I dont know, that's what bothers me. I had no reason to watch him closely just as I had no reason to suspect he would ever cheat. You ever call up your buddies for tips when you're having a tough day on the lake during a tourney when its against tourney rules? Ever toss a dead cull fish when no ones...

Pete, at that Topstick DVL tourney I fished with Mike and had no reason to suspect anything. Didn't see anything suspicious laying around his boat and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

Re: Why is it "A Sad Day" in Bass fishing?
I fished with Mike at the first (and last) Topstick tourney of 2010 at DVL. I had never met him before but I had heard of his Castaic domination. I had a great time fishing with him and he answered all my questions about what baits he was using and how he was working them. I watched him catch a soli...
