humming bird locators with mg ultrex
What humming bird locator do I need? I understand h~ birds are needed to follow contours with my mg ultrex. I would like any advice that is necessary and experience doing this at Commanche or Berryessa. I guess it is also necessary to buy a special map for this to work. Maybe to much cost to convert...

Re: Trailer Bunk Recarpet
I was reading a reply about this subject from another site and a very reputable person had this reply. Why use carpet, just paint the boards. He claimed the advantage is that the wet carpet does rot out the boards. The carpet doesn't help the boat slide any better or provide any protection but does ...

How do you get the shine back on extruded aluminum steps on my boat trailer. They had a high shine when new but now dull. I've tried all the waxes with no luck.

Re: Need a flippin deck
I made a full deck on my Ranger 393 last year. It takes a lot of time to make it perfect but it was worth it. However it makes the front of the boat heavier when using plywood and wood framing, Also the lockers will not be water proof . I suggest you put 125 to 150 lbs of weight in the front of the ...

Re: Should FPT be allowed to hold a event this weekend??
Thanks Cooch, you are right on with things to help avoid a big fish kill. The best of all is checking the livewell operation in the water. most of us have had a problem with livewell pumps failing or plugged up at one time or another. I still say the TD is the boss and not an easy one at that, but w...

Re: Should FPT be allowed to hold a event this weekend??
I would recommend giving the TD at least a stern warning that this fish kill situation will not be tolerated. As far as who to blame you must go to the top man, in this case the TD. or nothing will EVER be done about it. This bull about educating fisherman about fish kill sounds good but unless ther...

I know this is not what you asked to fix your boat but to prevent further damage you need to have bunk carpet that is in good shape and wet the bunks well before pulling the boat out.

I never used or wrapped a micro guide but from what what I've read they should be ok for most rods. However I don't see a good reason to use the micro guide on a punching rod. Small single foot guides, hmmm

Yes,In addition to the kill switch, another advantage of the hot foot is if you happen to be thrown out the throttle doesn't stay open. Also older motors are easier to start if you can tap the throttle.

I have the I finder and it works ok but don't expect that it will replace a good boat mounted locator, hd or whatever. I don't like the small screen when trying to use it while moving on the water.

Up like a rocket and down like a feather. Guess who is making the big bucks. I just read the Balance sheet for Exxon for 2010, Federal U.S taxes $9 billion, Total taxes for all countries $89 billion without a dime invested. Now you know why the Gov is not excited over our gas prices.

Re: Re-glueing line guides on rod
You asked what glueing you should use for putting on new guides. Use the 5 min. expoxy I said to use to hold the guide in place and forgot to mention using size d thread to wrap over the foot of the guide and THEN use the rod type expoxy over the thread wrap. This guide will never move.

Use 5 min expoxy after lightly roughing up the rod surface where you plan on putting the guide. Pay attention the guide doesn't slip during the harding time.

If you drill holes for the carrage bolts make sure to put a perservative into the holes because this is where the boards rot first.
