Re: Powell Football Jig Rod
Sushi for 1/2 ounce or under I use a Powell 723 endurance. Its rated a 3 power but I think its more like a 3 1/2 or 4 power rod which makes it a great jig rod. For my 3/4 and 1 ounce jigs I use a Powell max 735. Its got alot of backbone and is very sensitive. Its also dubs as my favorite frog rod. I...

I just checked out the new chronarchs on tackle tour. Its a pic of Dave Mercer holding one. It looks kinda like a smaller calais with a black and white paint job. It also has the big paddles like the E series. It looks sick. Cant wait to get my hands on one.

Re: Millerton Lake Stripers
I caught a 42 pounder in December. We heard the swimbait bite was on for big spots so my buddy and I went out there to throw swimbaits. I saw a toiletbowl flush right next to the boat so I threw at it and two casts later i hooked into the big girl. Its the biggest and only striper I have ever caught....

Re: BEST SPINNING REEL LINE???
thanks for the suggestions.....I like the 10# poer pro braid idea with seagaur leader. Sounds economical, as you can use the heck out of braid before needing to be replaced. Krazybasstard- how much leader are you using? I personally start with at least a 6 ft leader but if the water gets really cle...

Re: BEST SPINNING REEL LINE???
Try 10 pound power pro with 4-10 pound seagaur invizx leader depending on the app. Zero memory and line twist and tons of sensitivity. Once i tried the braid i never went back to straight mono or flouro.
Re: Frog Rod
Powell 735 all the way. Perfect length, power, weight for froggin. Put a small profile reel like a shimano E7 on it and you can frog the delta for 10-12 hours easy.
