Hole in my boat

Hopefully you guys can give me some info on fixing the hole that I just put in my boat. It is fiberglass and I put a very small hole in the front hull area. I put a screw in and just the very tip is sticking out- and it is above where the water line is. Before I go buy some epoxy I thought you guys ...

Re: Big fish on dropshot??

Thanks to all of you who posted. I now have some new ideas that I need to try. This is not my bait of choice, but I want to feel confident enough to throw it more. After hearing all of the big fish stories (and the pictures are great too) I already have more motivation to use this technique. Once ag...

Re: Big fish on dropshot??

I knew someone had to be catching big fish. I guess that I need to change my tactics. Any tips on how you guys rig them, size/type of bait, and how you work them. You don't have to get too specific on the type of bait cause I know some people don't like to give to much info on what catches fish. Tha...

Big fish on dropshot??

O.K. guys, I am hoping some of you can help me out. I've been dropshoting for a while now and can't seem to get any big fish. The largest would probably go 2 to 2.5 lbs. I know most people think that big fish eat big baits, but some of you must have better luck than I have. I've thrown the small stu...

Re: Fish Attractants

Yeah, my great grandfather swore by WD-40-he called it Panther Piss! I know he always used it while trolling for trout, but I don't know about bass. As for the others you got me.

Re: Loomis or St. Croix?

Thanks for all of the info on what and why you guys use different brands of rods. It has been very helpful. I do believe that I am leaning torwards the St. Croix now. In regards to Saltie, I was trying mainly to get an impression of the brands and not get into to much detail about the specifics. I h...

Loomis or St. Croix?

Let's say I have about 150 bucks to spend on a new rod. I have been looking at the Loomis gl3's and the St. Croix premier and Avid series, but I don't know which brand to go with. Both have good reputations, but a salesman told me that you wont notice good quality in a Loomis until you get into the ...

Turning Over

When does a lake turn over and what does it do to the fish? I've been fishing for a while and have always heard people tell me that a lake has turned over-which usually means I start fishing deeper. Do you look for bait fish to drop? If anybody has some advise/pointers I would appreciate it. thanks ...

Re: Is the 'puter named Hal?

Sorry about not being more specific. The motor only clicks once and does NOT turn over. The cca requirements are a min. of 528 and my battery says 685. I have checked all connections and they are good. The boat and motor are on '01 purchased new in '04 with only 24.9 hours on motor-again this just s...

Re: Ever had problems with HPDI's?

Yeah, thats what I was thinking but I replaced the battery about 3 months ago and the one I bought had more cranking amps. Can cheaper batteries not perform as well-even if they say they have more cca's?

Ever had problems with HPDI's?

Since it got cold my motor (Yam. 150 HPDI) has been taking longer and longer to start. You can hold the key in the start position and hear a click and then wait up to 30 sec. for the motor to start. Once the motor warms up it will start right away. Wondering if my battery is to small or something el...

Re: Braided Line Users?

Thanks for all the advise. Sounds like everyone has their own system. A good knot has to be key on the leader too. Great to know their are guys out there willing to give a little advise.
Good luck to you guys on the water!
