Re: Motorguide Trolling Motors Help
The cable on my Motorguide 46lb. snapped in open water at Lake Oroville. The wait time at the local authorized repair shop was weeks, so I just bought the cable for $44.00 and replaced it myself. Re: Ci4 2500 Handle Question
I hate the feel of the EVA round foam handle too, but luckily my Sustain 3000 (direct-drive) handle screws nicely into my 2500 Ci4. Depending on which reel I'm using I just switch the entire handle. My dealer told me a spare Sustain 3000 handle retails for around $50.00.

I had the same problem, exchanged it, and the new one was just as bad. I put a drop of Shimano oil in the maintenance port, turned the handle 100-200 times, and repeated 3 or 4 more times over the course of a day. BIG IMPROVEMENT! And it's only gotten smoother in the months since then.

Re: $519 traffic ticket for towing a boat 10 mph over..
Heads-up for Delta anglers on I-5 between Sacramento and Stocton. With the speed limit reduced from 70mph to 60mph for about 25 miles, the CHP has become far less tolerant of boat-towers going over 55. I got a warning last weekend for doing 62mph.
