Re: Striper Report 11/10/18

From my experience the fall run fish tend to school up with similar size fish.

In the spring you can have all sizes mixed into one school.

We are targeting the biggest fish with large glides and top water. That's our way of eliminating the small bites.

Striper Report 11/10/18

I made it out for a few hours Saturday morning to chase some striper. My partner Shawn and I launched in the dark and made a long run to the first spot. While waiting for the sun to rise we set up on a huge levee break and started fan casting glidebaits. After a few minutes I hooked up with a nice 8...

Re: Quick Report 9/22/18

Thanks for the help! Can you recommend some of the plugs you use? The Sac is pretty dirty, the feather has 3-5’ visibility. I’m thinking it’s more about the action and getting it in front of them but confidence helps. Again I'll say color is secondary for striper with the top water plugs. I'll cons...

Nice fish, I’ll be checking out the plugs you used. I’m just learning Swimbaits for striper and was looking at the depps 250, can you recommend a starter color? Both tides... But, most of my favorite spots only fish well on the high tide. That's when the bigger fish move up shallow and feed.

Quick Report 9/22/18

We made a couple exploratory trips this weekend to try and find some of the larger models. Focusing mainly on the Sac river side, we burned a ton of gas and made hundreds of casts for small bursts of action. When targeting the big girls we only throw 6-9" topwater plugs and 10-13" glidebai...

I have a few friends that really like the new Gills products coming out.

I personally wear the SIMMS Pro Dry suit. It's unbelievably light and breathable. I can wear it Sept-April and it's never too warm. Just a add base layers underneath and your ready for the cold weather.
