Re: Hot weather and fish care - don't put ice directly in to the livewells!

Suggest watching Sure-Life video's on livewell management. Bass go into thermal shock if the water temperature they are acclimated to is 10 degrees different. The real danger is night tournements when the surface water temps are high with very low DO levels. Bass boats use surface water to fill live...

At my age the next 4 years will not affect me directly it would affect my ability to pursue bass fishing if still fishing. The next 4 years will be like nothing any of us has ever experienced.

Everyone has a different idea about night fishing lights. What you need is nav and anchor lights on at night fishing public lakes. The Delta is a different world from SoCal. Leave your finnese tackle at home. Get a San Jaquine delta chip for your sonar unit, the area is vast, easy to get lost. Think crawdads in dark colors with high contrast, blue/brown or black/red work. I would consider fishing Frank Tract area the 1st trip. ...

Most Public lakes in SoCal are closed to night boating. Night bass tournaments I have fished all had 10 mph Max speed limit at night. Bright Q beam light helps if your lake allows faster speeds at night.

Heavy boat and under powered. 3 blade SST 24p should be in the 5800 rpm range, maybe 63 mph. Adding cup can help with bow lift, adding rake can increase rpm's but you also need to get up on plane. Do you have a jack plate?
You might considered adding hp to your current engine.
