Re: My Philosophy on Floro
Fluoro sinks, therefore for Splitshotting doesn't Fluro defeat the purpose of floating a worm up off the botttom? Also, how do you keep the splitshot from sliding down? and how did Mr. Trask catch all his fish? If it didn't matter then, why does it matter now? Just asking, not meant to offend.

Ray, your tournaments are a class act. I can't remember when I've fished such a well run tournament. Everything ran smooth, at least from a competitors prospective. Al Linder says he still uses mono for most applications. I use Flouro most of the time, but it is expensive. I might try using more mono for a change or at least hybrid lines and see what difference it really makes. I guess the process of making flouro is way more expensive then making mono
.

Cal Fed Non-Boaters - What to bring?
Looking for tips on what to bring for my first fed tourney. I know we have to keep our tackle down to a minimum, I have a small tackle bag, but how many rods should I take? Also, should I bring a small cooler for water/lunch? Thanks in advance....

I dont know Pete. From what I gathered they dont give priority to anglers that dont want to fish the whole season, so your chances in fishing one lake might be limited So if you register to enter a tournament online, do they wait until all the entries are in before they notify you whether or not yo...

The thing that bugs me the most is when some one out there falsifies a fish. If its 5lbs say its 5lbs, Hey man it's all good. My buddy caught a 9 pounder at Castaic back in 1983. I like Gamakatsu hooks. What style would you use for the following?
1. Worm (Texas)
2. Senko
3. Jerkbait, ie Flukes
J Bend, Offset, EWG, Straight Shank?
Why would you choose one style of hook over another?
Thank you.

I think the reason behind the fewer comitted co-anglers is the time of year. I'm sure you'll see more co-angler participation during the warmer months.

Launching at Castaic main ramp during windy season can be a real drag for me when I'm fishing alone. It seems that the wind always blows on the ramp, at least when I'm there.
