I have heard guys mention winter topwater on these forums before and talk about punkers etc. I recently got a toxic slop stopper which is a decent size walking bait and was wonder if you guys had any advice about when to throw topwater in the winter and if it even works lol....

While I've thrown 8" Hudds on both the Dobyns 806 and 807, I prefer throwing the 8" Hudds with a jig hook on the 807 for better hook sets. The Butch Brown rigged 8" Hudds are fine with the 806, but again the little stiffer 807 works better on the jig hook IMHO. Ok thanks when do you ...

I was looking to start throwing 8 inch hudds and I am looking for a rod. My buddy had a dobyns 806 he is willing to sell me for cheap. I was wondering what your guys thoughts were on the 806 for the 8 inch hudd. Also any rod recommendations if the 806 isn’t a good choice? Thanks
