Re: Will a Toyota Tacoma V6 4.0 L Tow a small bass boat?
I used a 90 Toyota, standard cab with V6 to bring my 86 Ranger 395 up from Palm Springs to Sac. It was a struggle to get over the Grape Vine but I made it. I have also used it to launch at Paradise which is a pretty steep ramp without any problems.

Re: Float Tube Tourney guys question
I like RipnRog's idea of a paper tournament (measure, weigh, record and release) the best--it's keeping to his original concept of the informal tube gathering. There are already two Northern CA tubing/pontoon clubs (BNT/SCBBBC) with more structured rules and official type weigh-ins with electronic s...

Re: Float Tube Tourney guys question
Mather is about half to a third the size of Rancho Seco. It is a pretty small, shallow pond with tullies around the shoreline. There are some big bass in that pond with the largest I have heard going over 8lbs. They do stock that pond so I wouldnt be suprised if there are fish over 10lbs. I would pr...

Whats up Rog?
More than likely I havent fished there either but would show up and fish with you guys. Last time at Rancho Seco I got skunked so I hope this time will be a lot different. When were you thinking about doing this one?

Re: OK Float Tubers tourney time
Just got back from checking out Folsom. I just went to Browns and Dyke 8 to check out the water levels and it is probably the lowest I have ever seen it. I think Folsom would be tough to fish from a float tube. I would like to fish a smaller body of water for the next one...

I had a great time meeting you guys however was humbled by Rancho Seco. I have never been to the lake(which is why I was late cause I got lost) and really dont usually fish out of a float tube so I felt out of my element. Rog congrats on your win however I plan on making a stronger showing next time...

Paradise Point
I always launch from Paradise Point without many problems. The only problem is that the ramp is a two lane ramp that is relatively steep and in the summer time, weekend warriors hog both lanes. When it is busy there is a little wait. There is plenty of parking and is safe.

I think you put too much thought into this. I agree that everyone should have some say but we will be talking til our faces turn blue. As long as everyone knows the rules it will be fair. I think you just set the basic rules such as types of crafts allowed, # of fish, time and length of tourney, and...

I would be interested for braggin rights or a low entry fee. I think the friendly competition and just fishing cause it's our passion, should be incen...

In Sacramento, I would suggest Mather. Mather is pretty choked with weeds but with the weather being so hot the frog bite should be getting good. Mather is best fished out of a kayak or canoe. Frog or weightless Senko is your best bet. Folsom is not far from Sacramento, but me and Folsom have a love...
