I drop shot with 15lb line on the delta and have landed fish that size without much issue. It was probably a frustrated fisherman that couldn't get the fish to bite so he tried snagging it. Probably would have let it go.

They can replace tips while you wait. They have to send the rod off to have guides replaced and that takes 6-8 weeks at the Manteca store.

From what I understand you have to rent one of their boats and they all run off electric so I would assume they run sub 5 mph. I think if its too windy they won't rent them out at all.

Stick the hook through the bait. I can get around 10 fish per senko and my hook up ratio is excellent. Just make sure your bait doesn't flip around and ends up setting in the bend of the hook.

I would probably quit fishing if I had to fish out of that thing. I bet he has $5K invested in that rig. You can buy a used aluminum boat/motor then install decks, graph, and trolling motor for way less then what that thing cost.
