Re: Craw style hair jigs
I think I found a solution... "magnum" size rabbit strips. Bigger than what I originally bought.

Re: Craw style hair jigs
Yes, jig with no need for a plastic trailer. Trying to get a presentation that pressured fish don't often see. The rabbit hair has a similar action as the old school pork trailers, but once submerged it condenses. Would like something that is bulkier once it gets wet. Haven't got around to playing w...

Craw style hair jigs
New to tying hair jigs. Trying to get some material ideas for replicating two crawdad claws. I've only tried rabbit hair strips based on some smalljaw YouTube vids. Maybe leather? Rawhide?

Re: High pressure vrs low pressure
Whats your thoughts on the effects of barometric pressure on fishing. If you think it does, how and why does it effect fish? It does effect fishing. Bass are very in tune with the environment and sensitive to changes. They can detect a change in pressure. Usually when the pressure is considered as ...

Re: Unprecedented Clear Lake Fish Die-Off: Dead fish islands about the size of three football fields.
Weed spraying is the least of the problems although its likely a small contributor. Its the nutrient loading of the lake that causes the annual problems. Im sure most of us could quickly list a few sources where the nutrient loading is coming from. Phosphorus and nitrogen loading are the major prob...

Re: Anyone Been to Sonoma?
Has anyone been to Sonoma in the last few days? Last time I was there the visibility was terrible and the bite was tough! That was about two weeks ago. Thanks Yes. Water visibility is <6". There is a lot of shoreline cover for bass to hide in right now, but they are probably moving up shallow ...

Re: Senate Bill S1894 Calls for Predator fish (BASS) to be removed from Stanislaus/ Melones!
Reference the Northern Pike eradication efforts at Lake Davis from 8-16 years ago. CA DFG attempted netting, electroshocking, commercial fishing, and other methods to get rid of the pike, but as a CA Fish Biologist told me there were always pike that just couldn't be eradicated by those methods. The...

Re: A GO PRO DOESN'T MAKE YOU A FISHING STAR
I agree and disagree with his opinions in this article. There are those goofballs on youtube that should be easy enough to spot, but it is still somewhat entertaining to watch them be a goofball. But, there are plenty of short clips and videos where the entertainment is coming from bass catching act...

Catchem Caro fish
My 2011 fishing new year resolution was to successfully boat a keeper on my buddy rich's Catchem Caro wakebaits. I forced myself to throw the wakebait and nothing else. That was the ticket, '11 bassolution accomplished. They will most definitely get a lot more playing time after seeing what they can...

so a few weeks ago i hook and land an absolute TOAD. I didn't have a scale with me and was lucky to get a camera and snap a few pics. I was not about to take this fish out of the lake and the gene pool, hell no. So i didn't get an exact weight before releasing her unharmed. my biggest bass prior was...

because any of the other anglers could have used it as well. I dont think it really gave him an advantage, but if it did, thats what he should be looking for, an advantage.
