I pretty much agree with g-man. Give me a pro worm or robo any day. If needed I will put on my own scent.

Re: Where to catch some fish from shore?
Lake Amador by Ione is a popular bank fishing venue. They stock some good size fish in there & even have fishing docks to fish from. Some of the areas can be a little crowded and it can be a little pricey to get in, but would be one of my choices for bank fishing.

Your Magazine is the best around, I even enjoy the ads. I see you adressing the delivery time issue on several fishing forums and think it is admirable, but I do have a question. You often state that the US mail is inconsistent or at fault with delivery issues. I recieve weekly & monthly magazin...

No. I was in F.W. the other day and was going to drop close to 20$ on a pair of braid shears. I have been using a pair of Fiskars from the grocery store for like 2.99 and they work great. If you get the blunt little kid ones you can even keep them in your pocket. So I put the high dollar pair back.

Hey Guys, I appreciate the fact that you all debated this with me and we all kept it civilized. You made some great points. I am still going to be pro " Buy American" but my mind will be more open. Who knows, maybe I will even buy a Dobyns (gasp!) one day. Thanks. .

Re: This from the latest issue of BASSMASTER Magazine...
I believe the top end Dobyns sticks are 250.00. There are some very nice sticks available produced here for that money. Besides more profit for the company and skirting US enviromental laws what are the reasons for moving production to china? Aren't rattletraps, Bill Norman Baits and Mann's baits pr...

Re: This from the latest issue of BASSMASTER Magazine...
So I guess it would be better if I just do a generic post about fishing stuff made in China in general? I was surprised to see BASS pimpin gear made in China but I guess I really shouldn't be as I suspect a bunch of their house branded stuff is made in there as well. What do you mean taking a crap o...

Splash, All the rods on my deck are Loomis with the exception of a couple Ordella customs and a phenix big bait special. I do not take cheap shots at Dobyns rods, I just point out where they are made. I will admit the whole hubub about another made in China product bugs the hell out of me. About a y...

Obviously it is pretty much impossible to not purchase items made in China or other countries abroad but I make an effort. With the exception of reels with fishing tackle there are plenty of options. And I would have to think a bunch of guys with 35,000$ trucks pulling 45,000$ boats that both get lo...

I have lived across the street from the hatchery for 9 years. Not once have they responded with any sense ...

Our DFG in action. Or inaction?
I am walking my dog this morning behind the Nimbus hatchery and see a group of 5 guys, three of them jabbing with metal poles wading in the river. They stop when they see me watching. About a hundred yds. downstream I see 3 guys fishing. I tell them that portion of the river is closed to fishing and...

I have made it my priority to buy as much tackle made in USA as possible. It is surprising how much high end stuff is made in ROC. Compare prices- there is alot of US made stuff as nice or nicer than what is made in China for the same price. Some people are making a killing. Dylan

Yea, It concerns me that with so few boaters- 30-40 boats today that they may decide to not deal with boaters and not have to staff/maintain for that. Especially if the few out there need monitoring.

Folsom Speed Limit
Fished Folsom the last couple days. As tedious as it is to have to run so slow it was great to not get forced off the lake by wakeboarders or hear their blaring music. The fishing is pretty good good as well. The only people flagrantly speeding were in bass boats. I saw 3 or 4 idle out past the 5mph...

Re: Cablela's Prodigy Reel - Anybody have one and like it
If you want a good reel with a flippin switch get a Shimano Castiac. If you just want a great reel get one of the new style Chronarchs. They are not cheap but just about everyone who throws one of my Chronarchs buys 1 or 5. They are sweet. I have not bought any of Cabela's house brand reels but have...

I have used the copper in the 12 and the 28. Both work fine but if I could just get one I would probably get the 28's. What I currently use are a pair with the Y-35 lens for low light and sight fishing and a pair of C-12's for bright conditions. The Y-35 lens is great for any time you are not in bri...

When you fish there give me a report. I kind of miss that place.

I grew up in the area and really cut by bassin' teeth fishing in both Greenhavan lake and a canal off Florin rd. where lakecrest shopping center is now that we called secret slough. There was also a swampy lake at So. Land Park Dr. & 40th (where Reichmuth Park is now) That was called Mungers Lak...
