Does anyone know if and when it's happening this year? Thanks in advance.

Re: Where to get my rod's guides rewrapped?
Go and see Troy Maggy at Troy's Outdoor Sports (at least for another week and a half, that is!). He'll take good care of you.

Re: How bout Lintner...21 each day. Luck? *NM*
Swindle is a loudmouth, plain and simple. By contrast, my buddy and I had the chance to speak with Derek Remitz yesterday after the 1st day weigh-in, and what a pleasant young man he is! He took the time to come over and chat for a few minutes, sign an autograph, talked a bit about his pattern, and ...

Re: Launching at Shasta Lake
Marty, Marty, Marty... Would I ever lead you astray? Despite the fact we likely WON'T be taking my boat, I'll still divulge MOST of my secrets. Launching out of Bridge Bay is still prolly best, and as for where to fish... to be honest, it really shouldn't matter. Sorry about your boat, but you...

Re: Fluke fishing
This is all great advice. One more thing I'll add to the mix: try adding a tiny ball-bearing swivel to the eye of a 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG hook. This does 3 things. First off, it adds a tiny bit of weight to the nose of the Fluke, which causes it to fall in a slight nose-down attitude for incredible acti...

Hopefully this will work... I'm a total novice at the picture thing. Here's a pick I found of the Pardee record smallie from last year vs. Fish Chris' awesome beast... Re: Definately NOT a mule!
Absolutely gorgeous fish, regardless of exactly what it is. And yes, even though hybridization may produce non-viable gametes (sex cells), the female will still produce eggs and the male sperm, they just can't fertilize due to what is known as a triploid meiosis condition (occurs if the genome numbe...

Re: Riggin a mission fish?
Check out www.swimbaitnation.com. They have a complete video of Mickey from 3:16 lure company showing how to rig and fish the Mission Fish. The only difference I've seen from the video is that most guys use a short fluorocarbon leader (15"-20" of 30#) and a small barrel swivel tied to 50# ...

Re: Is that a spot on the cover???
I'd say it's very unlikely that is a pure strain smallmouth in that picture. Where are the vertical bars down the sides? I've seen smallies come in lots of different color patterns, but never with such distinct spot-like blotches above and along the lateral line. Interestingly, there was another pic...
