Identify this bait?

Found this broken off in the tules a few weeks ago. Looks like a hybrid of a beaver and a tube. Cool looking bait. I wouldn't mind buying a few, any help???

Re: Snag Proof frog design changed?

Let me second the thanks on your great responses. Hopefully the fix will restore this bait to it's previous state (where it should have been left in my opinion!). I can live with them tearing after some carnage, but not with them falling out before the battle begins.....

Re: Snag Proof frog design changed?

Thanks for the response. DD, I have noticed the same weed gathering on the left side, strange. I can live with it, might give your fix a try though. Rich, just what I was looking for. I never noticed the internal weight. It was dark and I didn't feel like fumbling around with a problem. I just trimm...

Snag Proof frog design changed?

I've been going through some of my frog reserves lately, so I picked up a few more "Bobby's Perfect" variety. I noticed that the hook exit hole was changed from a slit to a more protected, reinforced type hole. It looks like this is an attempt to beef up the frog and protect the weak spot ...

What a load. Either you left your computer unattended while logged on and somebody played a joke on you or you just need some attention.

Sounds like you came across an idiot with a creative mind. Homeland security is concearned with water, drinking water. Not some random irrigation intake.

Re: Where to launch on the Delta?

I remember it being $10, same as King's. Maybe a little more parking, and not as much of a cluster-f because the spots are marked. Somebody at King's always winds up blocking the parking lot right of way on busy days.

Same gig, iron ranger by the ramp and parking on the other side below the levee.

Re: Bad day to be a Pirate

Large shipping vessels don't usually carry arms so they can easily port in foriegn countries, alot of bs is avoided if you don't have weapons onboard. It is also very hard to detect small craft close in on radar. Good thing we have our finest backing us up out there.

Re: Battery issue

Scrub the surfaces that the acid contacted with a paste of baking soda and water. It will neutralize the acid and stop the corrosion. Don't be surprised if some paint comes off!

Re: PVC Rod Holder Question...

I rigged a couple of kayaks and even a tube for fishing using pvc to hold rods. Every application is pretty much the same. Build a framework using a standard size like 3/4" or 1". Use "T's" with an open end facing up to create a stand where you will mount a rod. Above the T, moun...

Thanks for the input guys. From reading your replies, it sounds like I'm overworking the bait. Next time I'll switch to decaf and give it a go.

Shellcracker tips?

I bought a cracker earlier this year at the sportsman's expo and could not wait to throw it. I started using it in the delta about a month ago. It looks great and is a blast to throw, but I have yet to get any action on it. I usually will chuck it around points in low light conditions and parallel t...

which Dobyn's will do?

I have a 734c and love the ability to throw blades and senkos with the same stick. I'm looking to get another for swimbaits as large as a shellcracker. Can any of his swimbait rated rods double as a mat puncher or is this an impossible thing to accomplish with one rod?

Re: how heavy a line for buzzbaits

I use braid with the buzzer. I have lost a few bigguns lately by being too aggressive after the hook-set and trying to pull them too hard. Usually they will jump and throw the bait, so I tend to play them a little easier now.

Delta question

I frequently fish the delta from a kayak. Can't cover much water from where I choose to launch for the day, so I'm looking for some advice. I'm wondering if there are some mats in sandmound or if I should look more toward frank's or maybe little mandeville. Any insight would be appreciated. I'm a ka...

Re: I am so frickin sore!!!

Hey L Dub, Been kayak fishing the delta for 1.5 years now and am always learning new areas and launching spots. Haven't launched into Frank's yet, but it is on my radar. Got a couple of questions for you, seeing as we're both into an extreme kind of fishing. How's the traffic in franks during a week...
