Re: Palamar knot ok for fluro?
Oldschool is dead-on about the percentages. The only reason I still use the Palomar on the dropshot hook is because the it sets the hook in the proper position when you put the tag end through. I accept the 15% weaker knot for a hook that stay upright better. I never use the Palomar on other lines ...

Re: Lowrance elite 5x dsi
Thanks Ken
I am using an old eagle magna view plus now on the bow since I upgraded to the HDS
Not a great unit, but I think your idea is probably the best way to go.
I don't fish tourneys, just fish for the fun of it. I am already in way better shape with the HDS than I was!

Re: Lowrance elite 5x dsi
Thanks Ken Kinda what I thought Now I just need to figure out if the sharing is more important or the dsi I don't think my funds at this time will allow me to get the LSS unit and another HDS 5x. If you had a HDS 5 on your console in your expert opinion which unit would you recommend for a trolling ...

Re: Lowrance elite 5x dsi
Will the DSI unit link to th HDS 5 via the Ethernet cable or any other way or can you only link HDS units.
I have a console HDS 5 now and want to upgrade my bow unit soon.

Re: HDS 5 Info
Glad the info was useful Steve. BPS took about 5 or 6 days to get the unit to me. I don't know if the 3.0 is an actual operating system . I just made that correlation for ease of explanation. Anyway 3.5 is the new and improved and I read when doing my research prior to my purchase that you should do...

Re: HDS 5 Info
I recently purchased the HDS 5 I went with the base map and plan to add the navionics chip. I was told by several people that as the way to go. Downside is it's going to set me back couple hundies more. I purchased through BPS. Sent out for my $50 rebate on Friday. My unit came with the 3.0 operatin...

Don Pedro with Johnny C
Me and a buddy went out last Friday on Don Pedro with Johnny C The fishing was tough but we managed to scratch up some fish. I gotta say Johnny is on heck of a guide and fisherman. His knowledge, skill and hospitality are awesome ! Anyone how wants to gain a better understanding about Pedro or any o...

Re: Anbody fished Cachuma lately??
I was talking to the guy I'm going with. He owns the boat and said they changed the inspection process. He's tagged for the lake but hasn't been since November. Thanks for the heads up I'll go to their sight and see for myself. That explains the lake of reports form there. I understand these lakes f...

Re: WHY DOES FLOROCARBON TWIST SO MUCH
I have always used floro on my spinning rigs
Once I learned to close the bail by hand haven't had any probelms with it
Also I only fill my spool 3/4 full

Re: Don Pedro
I'd opt for McClure, unless your hawg hunting.
Much better chance of boating fish there. Fish may not have much size but beats sitting there hold a stick all day IMO.

Vince
Sometimes in more rural areas if you take your I Phone out of 3G mode you can pickup better coverage. This is done in the settings area of the phone. Works for me around McClure and Don Pedro.

Check out Pro worms
They have a nice shad w/ black & red flake.
May have a little more smoke than you want, but pretty close.
