Simple answer would be, Spinning rod, 6 or 8# floro. and wacky rigged Senko. Can get expensive real fast, but will catch plenty of fish. O-ring tool will help save some baits, but be prepared to go through a pile of baits.

Seth,
they have all 3 species at Shasta, but the primary fish is the spotted bass. those fish are aggressive, so they eat everything.

any worm on a 1/4 or 1/8th oz darthead is always a fish catching bait at Shasta.
throw that out on the main lake points and shake down to 30ft deep.
my favorite worms are 4in Berkley MaxScent Hit Worm or Pro Worms.
brown/purple, or shad colors work great.

brown/purple 3/8 oz jigs work great too. be aggressive with them and make them bounce on the bottom. look for the clay.

Lastly, never underestimate throwing topwater at every shade pocket, point, or ambush spot. i like throwing super spooks, working them slow, but any wake bait can do. you wont catch a lot, but you will catch bigger fish with topwater.

Have fun.
