Clear Lake 5mph

Post by DanIsaac »

FYI lake is rising quickly and is currently closer to 9 Rumsey than 8. I was just informed mandatory 5mph within 1000 feet from shore lake wide is now in effect.

Also informed lake is expected to rise beyond 9 Rumsey by Wed PM and a lake wide closer may result.

It's projected to be at 9.7 on the Lakeport gauge by 3 PM Thursday, That's almost a foot over flood stage. So yeah, a lot of water in that lake right now.

I've spent the last two months obsessing over these river guidance plots trying to time the rivers appropriately for Steelhead fishing. I never thought that these graphs would spill over into my bass fishing    ! This has been one wet February. Hopefully the folks in and around Clear Lake make it through this with minimal impact and we can get on with a nice high water spring bite!

Just heard from water resources that most pubic ramps are closed due to high water levels. The best place to launch currently is Konocti Vista Casino. Please remember that its 5mph 1/4 mile from the shoreline also watch for floating logs and debris.

As of today, Feb. 27th, Lakebed Management has stated lastest decree from Board of Supes: When the lake hits 10ft, the lake will be shut down to all motorized boat traffic.
