Does anyone have any info on getting a boat shipped to Ca. from the mid west area or even the east coast. I am considering buying a used boat from back there and want to know what it will cost and who I need to contact to get it back here. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you bassador
Need help on getting boat shipped from mid west
Re: Need help on getting boat shipped from mid west
I looked into it a couple of times before I bought my boat (which I drove down to get...) and found that unless you are getting an exceptional deal it will just about equal out the total cost of buying a used boat out here in the west. I remember costs of $2K or more to bring one from say Arkansas. However, try searching on posts from Dom. He's a trucker and as I recall he posted a couple of sites where I think you could get hooked up with truckers coming west with LTL and if they can fit the boat in or on, they'll bring it out. I may be wrong on that but I do know that it was a better price than "retail".

Re: Need help on getting boat shipped from mid west
bassador,
Man do I have a deal for you!! I am buying a double decker trailer so that I can haul both my pick-up "OR" Jeep and my Nitro Bass boat both at the same time behind my Motor Home. I am going to pick up this trailer in Nebraska as soon as it is finished. That should be within 5 to 7 weeks. Here's a link to the trailer ---

If you can wait until my trailer is finished and ready to pick up I will bring your boat back here to the Bay Area "FOR FREE".
Now the only problem with this little deal is there is plenty of room for a bass boat up to 19'6" and a beam no wider than 96" but there is no room for a trailer. If you can work out that little problem, like buying a trailer here i will be happy to fetch your boat for you for free.
Let me know what you decide.

Life is not a journey to the grave, with the intention of arriving in one pretty and well preserved piece. But to slide in broadside, throughly used up and worn out shouting "WOW" what a ride.
