I’m assuming the the state government classifies spraying as essential, just received this email :roll:

PUBLIC NOTICE

2020 Submersed Aquatic Vegetation
Control Program

The California Department of Parks and Recreation Division of Boating and Waterways will be conducting herbicide treatments in parts of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region to control Brazilian waterweed (Egeria densa), curlyleaf pondweed (Potamogeton crispus), Eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum), fanwort (Cabomba caroliniana), and coontail/hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum).

The following information is subject to change based on governmental requirements, weather conditions, plant growth, waterway traffic, special status species surveys,
presence of sensitive crops in adjacent lands, and other conditions.
Proposed Herbicide Treatment Period
April 16, 2020 – November 30, 2020
Treatment period is based upon DBW field survey data, water temperatures and other conditions.

Potential Treatment Areas*
In and/or around the following areas:
Anchorages, boat ramps and marinas: B & W Resort, Delta Marina Rio Vista, Hidden Harbor Resort, Korth’s Pirates Lair, New Hope Landing/Wimpy’s Marina, Owl Harbor, Oxbow Marina, Rivers End, Spindrift Marina, St. Francis Yacht Club, Tiki Lagoon, Turner Cut Resort, Vieira’s Resort, Village West Marina, and Willow Berm.
Near Old River: Cruiser Haven, Delta Coves, Diablo Ski Club, Discovery Bay, Hammer Island, Piper Slough, Quin’s Island, Sandmound Slough, Taylor Slough, Italian Slough, and Kings Island.
Stockton Area: Atherton Cove, Calaveras River, Fourteenmile Slough, Honker Cut, Mosher Slough, and Windmill Cove.
Sacramento Area: French Island, Long Island Slough, Prospect Island, Snug Harbor, The Meadows, and Washington Lake.
Antioch Area: Winter Island and Emerson Slough.
*Individual areas will be noticed prior to
treatment application. If all listed sites can be
treated, acreage will total 2,463 acres. Click

Herbicides Being Applied
Fluridone and Diquat (Herbicides are registered for aquatic use with US Environmental Protection Agency and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation)

Precautions
The public should not gather on or near boat docks during treatment applications. Boaters, swimmers, fisherman and other recreationists in an area being immediately treated are urged to heed directives by herbicide technicians, as they are aimed at protecting public safety.

Monitoring
Treated areas will be monitored weekly to ensure herbicide levels do not exceed allowable limits, or have any significant adverse impacts on the environment, agriculture, or public health in or near the above mentioned treatment areas.
