Boat trailer suspension
Boat trailer suspension
Has anyone replaced or upgraded the equalizers and shackles on their trailer? I noticed that a few of my shackles were worn, so I started looking at replacement parts. That lead me to check out upgraded parts such as wet bolts. Now I'm considering upgrading the equalizers as well which is commonplace for RV owners but I haven't seen anyone do it to their bass boat. My 2018 Nitro Z21 trailer has always been loud (cracking and popping as I turn or back down the ramp) and my tires have worn unevenly. So I was wondering if upgrading everything would help.
mean people suck

Re: Boat trailer suspension
I replaced mine and it helped quiet everything down. My bushings had fallen apart. The bolts that hold it all on are pretty heavy duty and difficult to remove. Definitely need a breaker bar and impact drill. Or you could take it to a trailer shop and have them dial it in.

I replaced the springs, nuts and bolts, and equalizer. The trailer was about 6 years old when I changed out the parts and they were worn out. The equalizer s were oval from wear.
