Bass Boat Insurance
Bass Boat Insurance
Just recently purchased a new bass boat and wanted to get opinons on what company most of you use for insurance. Would like a company who settles claims fast without going through alot of hassle in the event of a disaster.
Should price be the main factor? Combining home, car and boat insurance all together with lets say (state farm) be a good choice vs
a company who only handles boat insurance exclusively like Boat.us ?
Thanks for any replies.

No doubt about it, State farm is great. Any boat insurance issue i have ever had has been handled very fast and to my total satisfaction. Really fair rates too.

Re: Bass Boat Insurance
I am an insurance agent that sells and uses nothing but Progressive insurance. I have had them myself for 6 years and have been putting my clients with them for the last 3.5 years and never had a complaint about them at all. They offer many diff coverage options and limits and they also have roadside assistance, disappearing deducts (25% drop every year until ZERO)
and total loss replacement...you should really give them a look. This company will be priced little higher than some of the companies out there, but you get what you paid for...you just got a new boat...think about that
good luck with your hunting

Give a call to Stan Vandenburg @ 1 800 bass boat. He is a board sponsor, an avid fisherman and a quality individual. His company insures many bass boats, and best of all, you can reach him personally anytime, except when he's out on the water.

Re: Bass Boat Insurance
The recommendation given to me was not to have my boat insurance along with my house/car as if I drop the lower unit on the boat I dont want it to effect the rate of my vehicles or home owners policy. For this reason I seperated them.
After doing my own pricing and research I went with 1800 Bass Boats. The Vandenbergs are avid bass anglers and understand the needs that we have. Also too the rates and coverage apples for apples was more cost effective.
I recieved quotes and rate details from the following before deciding that 1800 BassBoats would have my business.
Progressive

Re: Same here
Gayla at Sawyer and Cook. I have has a couple clains including one for $6k after hitting a log at Shasta then having half my motor fall off. There we handled quickly and they do a lot of bass boat insurance. They cover stainless steel props and even your fishing gear. Gayla is a joy to work with too!

Sorry to say, but having worked for a boat dealer with a full service shop, I have not heard good things about Progressive.

Thanks for all of the info guys I appreciate it. HawgHunter thats a good point you mentioned about in the event of filing a boat claim that it could effect the house/car rates.
Called many places and it seems Sawyer/Cook and Vanderburg are the best two... Thanks again guys!

Not sure if you can use them if you aren't in the military, but I have been with USAA for around 15 years, and they are by far the best insurance company I have ever had experiences with. I have them for my house, boat, and both cars and have never had a problem they couldn't resolve.

Re: Bass Boat Insurance
This is Stan at 800 bassboat, give me call if you have questions about the companies or the coverages. We have Progressive, One beacon, Ace, Safeco, and a couple of other's in office that we can write you with. If you are going to fish tournaments with your boat, there are some companies that are better that others to go with. Let me know if I can help. (800) bassboat
