Brad Holloway and Bret Price ...2022 New Melones champions!

Angel’s Camp, CA. The FPT’s Central valley region kicked the year off last Saturday with a total field of 61 teams - not including 19 youth teams, vying for their first win of the season, a head-start on the 2022 FPT Angler of the Year title, and a shot at one of only 25 berths that will be available in the 2022 FPT Classic Championship.

A warm day welcomed anglers, which combined with no wind, gave hope to many teams that big fish opportunities could be present, which would heighten their chances at taking home first place honors.

The team of Brad Holloway and Bret Price took full advantage of the warm weather, topping the field in the adult division, on the strength of a hefty 14.57 pound five-fish limit, which they caught using a variety of baits.

For their victory, they received $4,000 in cash - (on a 61 boat field), and two custom trophies.

Congratulations Brad and Bret on a well-deserved victory!

Vista Del Lago wins Inaugural High-School Series division

The newly formed FPT High-School Series - presented by R2Sea, and Fisherman’s Warehouse, saw 10 teams from 4 different high-school compete for a $200 - 1st place cash prize, custom trophy, and 3 berths into their own no-entry fee High-School Classic championship, where 1st prize of $2,500 cash will be up for grabs.

Vista Del Lago High-School came on strong to grab the win, as Christopher and Westly Gritts logged a 11.61 pound five-fish limit to secure the victory, $200 cash, plus an automatic berth into the 2022 FPT High-School Classic Championship!

Youth Angler League champs

In the FPT’s Youth Angler League – presented by Gone Fishin’ Marine, R2Sea, and Daiwa, Andrew Alverez (Jr. Division - 12-18), and Jaxen Huckaby (Kid’s Division - 5-11) dominated their respective divisions with weights of 11.40 and 8.75, winning both cash and tackle prizes!

Both expressed that the highlight of their day was spending the day on the water fishing with “dad” and learning new techniques.

Congratulations to these young anglers on well-deserved victories!

Next up for the FPT’s central region…..April 2nd and Lake McClure!

See you there!

I have to give a big thanks to future pro tour for the great top 10 payout method. $4,000 for first place with only a 61 boat field is unheard of. Thank you future pro tour.
