HELP !!!! 12/24 volt Trolling Motor

Post by Rod Martin »

Back before time began I think Minn Kota made a 12/24 volt trolling motor. My friend"s TM was hit by a car . He has removed it but will be a while before it's back.

He has an old Minn Kota (MAYBE A MOTOR GUIDE)off a 1991 Ranger boat 12/24 TM with 3 wires. White- Black -Red to run it as a 24 volt motor which wire goes where .

And if we wire it wrong will it hurt or just run fast or slower than it is supposed to?

Thanks for any help

Just trying to get on the water

Hopefully someone smarter will reply but from what I remember ..... White is + from Batt #1 and Red is + from Batt #2.... black is - ..... You still need to run a jumper from Batt #1 - to Batt #2 +. That way it's wired for either 12 or 24 and there should be a select switch on the pedal to choose

Thank you
I’m going over in the morning to give him a hand and to have a lookout to call 911 when I hit the wrong wires ,
