Thinking of moving to the DELTA! Where should I move?

Post by JimmyReese »

This should be fun!

Ok, First things first.

I have read a lot of nice things the last couple of days and I wanted to take some time to thank all of you for your support! The phone hasnt stopped ringing long enough to get anything done at work, so I decided I am going to just not work!!! Only because I can... but I had to take some time to acknowledge a few people....

Mr. Russo, you facility was incredible, you had people flying everywhere, you guys were first class, the bbq was awesome! Thankyou. Gene and the hook took care of all my needs again! Its hard to believe that as much tackle that I have, that its not enough!! oh well, I guess this is my donation to our thriving economy. I guess that release boat is going to cost me $200 now!

Some of you didn't know this but day 3 at exactly 2:28 pm I decided to head back to fish closer to weigh-in. Well, guess what? The unexpected happened......The aerators wore out the battery.... Not good, especially cause I just took out my OPTIMA battery to put in my truck! Lesson learned....Ok so I am switching out a cranking battery with a t motor battery. No problem right!
Only if you hook up allllll the red wires to the battery.....(I found this out later) so no luck! no power at all....At this point the little red wire is sitting underneath the battery I just put in....See the Ranger Z boats need power to the Key boards...I found this out later as well... still no problem RIGHT ....tahhhhhhhsh....That was the scream you just heard me yelling to my buddy steve tosh....I think they heard it in stockton  no luck! at this point its 2:34 pm...Its kind of windy and I am not sure he can here me. Weigh in is at 3:00 Tahhhhhhhsh!...... Yea you laugh!...At this point I knew I had to put every wire back to where it was! ( Tonight I will zip tie all the wires together so this wont happen again! Ron Crews idea at Oasis ) Yes, jumper cables in the boat is another good idea! Tahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhsh. This was the panic scream now! .......He is starting to leave and he's idleing towards me, this is good. Except he is going to slow! Time is flying by...needless to say, steve Tosh and his co-angler saved the day! Thankyou for giving up some of your fishing time to help us out! we made it back with 10 minutes to spare..Pretty crazy! You know Optima batteries are maintanace free!........ Later I took a look at this battery (not Optima) and decided it would probably work better if it had water in it!   Nice......... You probably want to know why I took My Optima battery out and put it in my truck, and used my truck battery for the boat, cause I wanted to make sure I made it to blast off in the a.m. nice!...and I figured the battery charger would charge up the low battery! LESSON LEARNED!!!To make it worse there is 4 brand new batteries sitting at home ( Optima's of course) ( for the new boat of course)..hmmmm.

Thankyou Calvin from Oasis watersports for spending the whole minute and a half hooking everything back up.... I cant believe you have never been on the Delta! Next time we will be fishing!

Thankyou Zack Thompson for giving Calvin and I a ride back out to rescue my Vessel...

Gary haraguchi and your lovely wife thanks for your hospitality, and congratulations on your second place.

Dewayne Thanks for your donation of drop shot weights, and your friendship of course.

Thankyou zack, tuck, dewayne, gary, mascadri, for your donations at the card table.....It is hard to believe that scott might qualify for the world poker championships! Talk about easy money....

Dan and Jim, Special thanks to you guys! You know who you are!

and again,
Thankyou to all the kind words from most of you!

Fishing was great! I had a lot of fun in this tournament, I really didnt put any pressure on myself and it showed. I really just started fishing each day and I let the fish tell me what to do! The swim bait won it for me on days 3 and 4, a 7.7 and a7.12 took the bait. I really didnt throw it to much the first 2 days but I also knew that I didnt have to....A matter of fact I didnt throw a rattle trap to much the first two days either, but it paid off, especially day 3.....The iceing on the cake was deffinately the consistancy of the Roboworm and the Senko, These were my limit fillers as well as a big fish tool.........

Thankyou FLW Outdoors for putting on a first class operation. the guys that put the weigh-ins together work there butts off......

Cogratulations to all the top 10 guys, they made it very exciting. I really thought that one of the top 5 guys after day 3 was going to catch a 25 lb bag on saturday. The fish were very aggressive on Sat. Pretty hard to beleive.....Oh! and to the Anglers Choice team guys that caught (my) 5 and 7 lb bed fish, I take back everything I said about you!  How can there be 2 Permits on the same body of water on the same day? Hmmmm..It all worked out in the end ! Though, maybe not for somebody else!

and thanks for the subway sandwiches during our meeting on day 3... Oh,wait a minute. I didnt get a sandwich! I want to know who Charley gave my sandwich to? I bet Dobyns sniffed it out....or better yet, Strader sold it so he could cash a check for once! I am not sure on this one. Ill find out.......

Special Thanks to my mother for holding down the fort at work so I can live this crazy dream we all have! And last but not least thanks to all my friends for being just that...Good Friends!

This sport sends us on the road all the time, and because of this we have sacrifices. My wife Cathy and my kids seem to always take the most of this! but I love them dearly, and I pray every day of each tournament to give them strength and guidence. Thankyou family for all of your support.

Thankyou to ncbf for all the enjoyment of your forum, this forum rocks! and I beleive you have helped me sell a few boats over the years as well!

Brentwood?
Antioch?
Bethel Island?
Disco bay for sure! someone send me a Real Estate magazine!

I like to call that an investment. Wait till you and Haragucci get the bills from Dewaye's All Night Tackle Supply Company. :)

I think Gary and Donna may have a house to sell you.

Once again congratulation bud on the great 1/2 Season. Let's hope the second half of the year goes well also.

PS - Spend my entry fee money wisely, maybe a Bonus for your mom. :)

Jimmy you can move to Redding or Hanford...

Post by Ken Mah »

That is a pretty short commute. Straight shot down or up I-5 to Ladds marina. That should give you an awesome advantage.

Stay where you are at there are enough top guys to contend with. How would it be if you lived here.

Great job! Not just this past week, but the entire season 14th was your worst fininsh and you won two of these. WOW!
