I came up with a solution that extends the usefulness of any soft plastic attached to jigs.
Collared jigs tear soft plastics and they start slipping down after a few fish. You can either glue them to the jig or replace them. I only use no-collar jigs and those that do have collars I compress with pliers, cut around the hook and wrench the lead off behind the ball head, Arkie head, etc.
what you need:
pliers and wire cutters
24g floral arrangement wire (less than $2 at Walmart for 35 yds)
no-collar jigs
After holding the wire to the eye tie base, I wrap it around once and cut one side off close to the post. Bend the wire into an L shape that will swing into the plastic and hold it tight without harming the lure one bit no matter how many fish are caught.

I use Loctite Superglue Gel. Works great, lasts a long time and does not seem to bother the fish.

The problem with glue is removing the lure and being able to reuse it after it's ripped. All of my jig soft plastics are reusable unless the tail is cut off. Leaving one rigged and retying it is time-consuming.

Another use for the coated wire is for keeping soft plastic trailers on bass jigs from coming off.
The wire shown is a thicker gauge not needed in place of the 24g but does fine.
When wrapping once around the hook, it's important to not make the loop too tight to allow for best trailer action. Having to feed the trailer up the hook shortens it visually and I prefer a longer trailer not hidden by the skirt.
I use the wire grip with 3 other skirted-jig trailer shapes.
