3/4 oz football. Light wire for rock knockin. Heavy hook for flippin. Brown/orange or black/blue. I'll use a 1/2 for shallow water. Seldom use 3/8. But that's Clearlake (and sometimes Shasta).

I use my own 7/16 oz jig designed to standup and not snag rocky structure. Weed guard is a Hitchhicker small spring clipped to the hook eye with 2 1/2” finesse straight worm piece, tail split to cover the jig hook point.
This Viper jig dates back to 1971 and caught more DD* bass then I can remember now.
The preferred hook is Gamakatsu 114, sometimes a 604, both 5/0. This is a casting jig for use in deep rocky structure lakes with sparse wood cover. Normal fishing conditions light wind or rain this jigs is good from 1’ of water to 35’ using FC 10#or 12# line.
My favorite skirt is tri color buck tail hair with custom pork rind trailers.
Occasionally in the fall use a 1 ton (oz) football to kick up a mud trail.
Also use Dart heads with 4 1/2” curl tail worm ala Dick Trask.
If fishing heavy cover use the original 1/2 oz Wadda jig, still have a few.

Really depends on where and when but most times I have a 1/2 oz jig on. Football in the rocks and arkie head in the weeds
