Running Ultrex out in west delta

Post by NG »

Just picked up a used bassboat with a 2019 ultrex trolling motor. I've read that you should not run the ultrex in salt water, it voids the warranty. I often fish the west delta for stripers in the fall, mainly in the sherman lake area but may venture out as far as honker bay. Have any one of you guys run an ultrex out in brackish to salt water and then have issues with your trolling motor later due to corrosion, etc.? My motor is no longer under warranty and I don't want to have to buy a new one due to running it in water that I can avoid. Thanks for any input you have.

I've had my Ultrex for over 5 years and have taken it out to Newport harbor over a dozen times. Have not had an issue.

It's like anything that is used or ran in saltwater/brackish water ..... a fresh water hose is your friend !!

Try not to get water on the pedal. I'm guessing its exposed like a Fortrex. Saltwater and electicity is not good.
