Single BIG BASS tournament Winner Take All

Post by WB Staff »

Would a single BIG BASS tournament with winner take all work in the West? Heavy Hitters type but only one fish?

It’s been done; HBC. I believe it had a lot of interest but was only held for one, maybe two years

Was that the big bass tournament run by Ron Cervenka and Ken Huddleston at Casitas back in the 2010's?

I believe that was a once and done tournament that Don Osborne won.
The event was by invitation only and failed as a result.

Yes, Don Osborne won the first one a Casitas with a 10+ at his first spot and possibly on his first cast. There was one on the Delta; I don’t remember who won but my old team partner Guyle came in second and got the side option $. There was also one at Clear but I can’t remember much about that one.

When I didn’t get an invite to the 1st event at Casitas Ron told me to go to the Bat and sign up so I did. All they wanted was observers to sigh up. Not known as a swimbait angler I was over looked although more then qualified. That is why I said one and done and couldn’t care less if the event ever came back. Looking back I understand because of being very secretive of my success back in the day was known.
