for those who like to float tube or Kick boat for bass, where do you like to go? I'm looking for moderate but safe access, with low boat traffic. I don't mind catching just 1-2 pounders to do it.
I have heard Rancho Seco is good. I am looking for places in the Delta where there is less big boat traffic, that is out of the normal traffic pattern, yet I don't have to worry about tresspassing....
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Float tubes and kick boats......where to go?
Re: Float tubes and kick boats......where to go?
Not the delta, but how about Rodman Slough area at Clearlake? Should be able to have a good time along the tules. Bill K
Fun fishing the country, each and every week.
The Delta can be good...
....in the right areas. Bass N Tubes has a float tube tournament this weekend at Middle River. The guys at BNT know a lot of good areas with tons of fish and no boat traffic. Also BNT has its Open event next month at the Delta out of Beacon Harbor. Good area with plenty of fish and all with in a 5mph zone. Check out there website at www.bass-n-tubes.com
You can learn a lot by fishing with these guys either in a tournament or just fun fishing. They float the delta just about every weekend.

Yep, Lake is right on there are a bunh of places on the river that are great for kickboating the delta. I've done both the float tube and the kickboat out there and highly recommend a kickboat over a tube for the river the oars allow you to move farther faster which helps a lot if the wind picks up. The Delta Open event is a great event and you would be more than welcome to come on out and join us for the festivities, there is always a great raffle and casting contest after the first day of fishing on Saturday. Check out the website and come onto the forum and introduce yourself we would be more than happy to help get you out on the safer spots of the delta.
Re: Float tubes and kick boats......where to go?
rancho seco is a good bet. i go there about 15 times a year. it can be pretty good. there is always a chance to nail a big girl there too. it opens at 7.00am so the only way to get into the water early is to camp there. its big and not to much traffic on the water. no gas motors. fishing the outside weed beds with senkos is a good bet. also mather pond has a good amount of quality fish in it. lots of weeds though can be a bitch at times. i know of some good private ponds that produce some good catches. if you want info on that just pm me. tight lines.

I'm sure the B-n-T guys know some good spots on the Delta.
One place I have fished from my kayak is Rock slough off of
Delta road in Knightsen. There less boat traffic and only a few skier/wakeboarders. Lots of grass beds, tule berms, some laydowns and docks to fish. Over the years I have done well in there. Easy access to put in.
Good luck.
