Post by Scott Shambre »

Dean McDaniels and Gary Jones won todays FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE SUMMER SERIES event with a sack weighing in at 17.46 lbs. They also had big fish of the tournament, an 8.28 lb. Largemouth that came on a dartheaded worm. First place paid Dean and Gary $755 and they added another $480 for the big fish for a total payday of $1255.

Marcel Colin and Troy Schroder came in second with 15.28 lbs that came throwing topwater and swimbaits throughout the day. Marcel & Troy cashed a $380 check for second place.

Danny Fox and Devin Grande held the lead thru most of the weigh-in and ended up placing third with 12.38 lbs. Danny also had the second big fish of the day, a 4.62 lb. Largemouth that ate a Morning Dawn worm. Third place paid Danny & Devin $280 plus another $200 for the second big fish for a total of $480 for the day.

All of the results of this event will be on the FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE website in the next day or two. Goto www.folsombassleague.com and check out all of the info about the SUMMER SERIES, our regular season dates as well as informative articles from the areas top pro's.

The next SUMMER SERIES date is set for Sunday, July 23rd out of Granite Bay. This will be an ANGLER APPRECIATION event where we will be putting on a free hot dog BBQ for all of our anglers during the weigh-in. Check-in will be at the bathrooms at the Granite Bay ramp beginning at 4:30 AM with blastoff at first safe light from the Granite Bay ramp. Weigh-in for this event will begin at 12-noon for the first flight with awards shortly after the last boat weighs in.

Thank you to all of the anglers that came out today despite all of the pleasure boat (lake maggot) traffic. Alot of the congestion will be relieved by the early weigh-in on July 23rd. Thanks to all our sponsors listed below that make the FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE possible. Come on out and experience the FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE SUMMER SERIES next month, I look forward to seeing you all there.

Man that was my first tournament on Folsom during this time of year, I could not believe how much traffic and how many water turds we had to dodge!

Yeah, there was a ton of traffic out there for sure. Fortunately, our next two tournaments in July and August are only six hours long. So we are blasted off before any of them crazies hit the water and off by noon. We'll be enjoying some hotdogs and cold soda's (free for our anglers) in the shade instead of trying to battle for coves, banks, and dock space in the afternoon. 8) 8) 8)

Thanks for supporting the FBL.

There are just a ton of crazies our there right now.

I fished 3 consecutive rock piles in the north fork for about 90 minutes midday. Each rock-outcropping was about 25 yards apart. It would have been extremely easy to just go around those marked hazards. Instead, I watched 3 wake boats and 2 massive cruisers filled with half-drunk trashers and pumpin’ the high-decibel, violate your mamma, sister and daughter music, jet right in between the boulders with complete clue-less-ness. I cannot believe I did not witness an accident. It was a miracle. It is astounding how stupid people can be. One of them was even towing their little rug-rodents behind them. That would be a particularly nasty accident to witness. Little JR running into the prop or jet cause Daddy’s drunken Butt doesn’t know what a hazard buoy is.

Scotty, any chance of you turning the Sept. even into a 6-hour event as well? No, not because you have to … but because being out there after Noon is just painful from May to Oct.
