Outdoor writer Terry Knight has retired.

Due to an auto accident and failing health, Terry will no longer be writing for the Record B,or having his Wednesday radio show. Terry has been recognized by his efforts in his writing and actions as they pertain to the outdoors to be inducted into the California sportsmen's hall of fame.
Some of you old timers might be aware that Terry was instrumental in getting the Record B team Bass Tournament started over 40 years ago. The entrance was limited to 250 teams and it was always full and at the time the largest team tournament in the United States. One particular note of interest for the 2001 tournament during the playing of the Star Spangle banner after the attacks we suffered, a Bass boat sped through the assembled teams displaying the American flag. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Terry besides writing for the B and numerous other publications for a time also guided for bass and turkey hunting here. Terry was also the first president of the California Turkey Hunters Association.
On a personal note, when I retired and moved up here over thirty years ago he became my friend and we spent many days Deer, Turkey and Pheasant hunting plus fishing together. We also gave Turkey hunting seminars for the Dept. of Fish and Game in Sacramento. Terry talked methods of hunting as a gunsmith I talked firearms use. His other trait was that he would help anyone in need to fix anything if he could. Thank you my friend, you will always be in my heart.

Thank you Terry Knight for all that you have brought to the sport and outdoors in the west. I looked forward to reading your articles and publications. Thank you for passing on your wisdom and knowledge throughout the years and enjoy the next phase of life - FISH ON!

Terry has done a great deal for the Clear Lake Community for decades. I hope he can still make it down to the launch ramp to hang out and see everyone still. Take care of yourself Terry and thank you for all the years.....
