Catfish on a Shakey Head

While having a good day on Shasta I picked up an 18lb catfish after several spots, most Shasta clones, one pushing 3 lbs. Hit a 3/8 oz Shakey Head with 7 inch super salt pumpkin flat tail worm. Worm was hit, not snagged.

Questions: How often does this happen? How big do catfish get in Shasta?

I have caught channel and flathead cats on just about every lure. I'm fishing golf course lakes at night about two nights a week. It's pretty rare that I go more than a month without catching one.
The cats travel in packs at Clear Lake and they are aggressive. I caught one on a bare hook in front of the biggest mansion on the point at the Riviera. I casted out my wormless drop shot rig to get rid of the line twist. A channel cat that was about 10 pounds hit it as soon as my weight hit the water. It was hooked in the mouth. I seen guys go bendo like dominos as the cats travel through an area and attack everything in sight.

I caught an 9lb cat at clear lake on a chatterbait in 3' of water on the bank ahaha two cranks and the rod loaded up. Ill believe anything after that...

I caught a really big cat about a decade ago at the start of Rattlesnake on the right with a bladed jig that I make. It is the only fish of the many thousands on my custom bladed jig that has been able to bend a 4/0 Ultrapoint hook. They love to roll.
