Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
Restore the Delta Breaking: President Trump signed a sweeping executive order that told federal agencies to “immediately take action” to deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules that stand in the way, including endangered species protections. https://cal.news/4hn6BzS

Does this mean Trump is going to pay for this tunnel project

Re: Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
Like CA ever adhered to the CA endangered species act. Now the Lib's have a scapegoat in Trump. Big AG will get all the water they want and we will get higher prices and dead lawns.
Re: Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
“PRESIDENT TRUMP issues sweeping executive order on California water”. But somehow he’s not responsible for any outcomes, and “the libs” will turn Trump, who will clearly be blameless after issuing the order, will be a scapegoat? I seriously don’t understand.
Re: Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
I was going to explain it to you but I don't have the energy. Just know, I think Trump and Musk sound like friggin Moron's when they talk about CA's water issues. CA dem's are not opposed to this as they don't give a sheet about the environment either.Drakestar wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 12:45 pm “PRESIDENT TRUMP issues sweeping executive order on California water”. Brutal!

Now I would love for one of you Trump supporters that actually understands the California water situation to comment on this story (and Trump’s related photo-op tweet):

Now just think to yourself, if he is so obviously wrong and pandering about something you actually know a lot about, is it possible he is wrong about all those other things?

Bottom line people tunnels will get built water going to flow south and there nothing you can do about it because the Democrats rule. So either get used too it or move out of ca it's that simple.

Eventually they will have to take the salt out of sea water. In the meantime they will sell our water for big money

No it's not about people needing water it about some place like the delta to fish. In here it's about fishing you talk about farmers taking the water when the Dems send to the ocean no mater how much water we have. The tunnels are going to get built there going to ship the water and the delta not going anywhere. Anglers are so worried there not going to be able to fish that's the bottom line. It's not about people getting water don't kid yourself JV.
It's all about the fishing is what it boils down to.
Only reason the westernbass writer post this crap is to stir you'll up and you take the bait.

First off, there is barely any water in either of those two lakes (Kaweah/Success) as they're both sitting at 18% and 19% of capacity. Both lakes released some water at the end of last month and combined releases never reached more then 1700 CFS and this went on for maybe 2-3 days. That amount of water is only enough water to flood creeks not rivers. Both lakes combined are only a quarter the size of Lake McClure and are not a threat to flood much of anything but low lining farm land.
You Lib's got played once again by a fake non story designed to ruffle your feathers. You easily triggered Karen's are owned by the media.
Since the left is supposedly concerned about the environment and a 3" fish let's see how hard they fight this. I bet they won't and you won't hear much about this topic ever again. Trump unknowingly gave them what they wanted.
Trump will get blamed for the decline/extinction of everything while Stuart Resnick and Gavin Newsom will grow in wealth and power.
And No, we don't believe Trump is right about everything. The media has painted a picture of the Right that mostly resembles the Left which is rabid, blindly following, idiots. When was the last time the Left has called out anything Biden or Newsom has done?
Here is a short video of your CA Oligarchs of the last 80 years. You/we are all peasants to these Crooks but the left doesn't mind because they have been trained/brainwashed the day they entered our education system.

Your right whoopbass I have Don Pedro and mcClure just north of me Eastman & Hensley lakes & Millerton in my back yard and Pine flat to the south.
All good fisheries. Your precious delta is going no where even after they build the tunnels. The water is still going to flow and it's going business as usual.
And the delta will be remembered for the Golden mussels invasion your new state mascot.

You dam rights it will still be there. And there will still be tournaments you'll be able to go fishing any time you want and nothing will change even with the tunnels being put in. The water will still flow to the ocean because the Dems will let it.
Next time the westernbass writer want to post stuff like this nothing going to change the minds of the democrats on this subject. Trump just gave them a free pass and made it easier for them end of story.

Re: Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
Based on your reply, I’m curious if you even read the link! The water release was 1/3 of the amount initially ordered because the man who has been in charge for 25 years had the balls to push back. What seems so wild about this story to me is reservoirs of 18% and 19% capacity (your numbers) being ordered to pump out water in massive quantities for a political stunt! It was January! If you’ve ever really loved a reservoir (as I have) this is a dirty, disgraceful, bizarre act. I’m from farther north, but there are reservoirs I obsess over the water levels. Water being pointlessly pumped out like this would piss me off!Whoopbass wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 6:35 amYou're showing your liberal ignorance once again by believing everything put out by the Liberal media. Read Trump’s tweets after this. He talks about “Turning the water on in California.” It was done solely to mislead people who have no understanding of the real situation here. Come on bro! If Biden had done something comparable what would you think? Be a serious enough person to acknowledge this was a pointless political stunt.
Interesting video. I would have to research some of that more. I can assure you though, I’m not driving around with a giant Newsom flag on truck.

As it should be farming and agriculture should get 75% the water and 25 % to cities and communities.
So ordered by tariff sheriff
You guys have a platform you can discuss these topics just ask Kent Brown if you can use his radio show. See if Kent can get governor nutsack or President on his program for and hour you guys call and voice your displeasure about how this thing going to turn out.
Beats listening to reruns.

Re: Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
I read the link and it appeared to me it was just clickbait to get the Lib's fired up over a fake headline done by a liberal site because they know how easy it is to get ya all triggered so they get clicks and make money.
This water release makes zero sense. Show me where Trump ordered water to be discharged from two depleted small reservoirs for two days and then shut off. So it had to be those two reservoirs??? So Trump made an executive order on a Tuesday and on a Thursday the state is getting flooded.
This is why i'm done arguing with Lib's over the internet. This stinks and makes zero sense but you're offering this up as proof of something? Why didn't the almighty Gavin Newsom stop it??
CA that is run by Lib's has dumped more water out to sea for no reason in the last few years to the point that it appears to be intentional just so they can have a man made drought and exert more control over us. They let this water flow out to sea and don't even bother filling up San Luis Reservoir to the brim. If you don't know, San Luis is filled by pumping delta water delivered by the aqueduct up a 500' ? dam/hill. San Luis has no creeks or rivers to fill it. Anyway the state neglects San Luis, dumps water in drought years for no reason and you want to compare that to the drop in the bucket that supposedly Trump ordered to be released which i'm not buying because it doesn't make sense. Why isn't this Liberal state tying this up in courts? Remember they were suppose to Trump proof CA.....Maybe Trump and Newsom are BFF's now. Who knows
Hell, I remember when Bush # 2 ordered water releases up in the Sac area to be slowed down to a trickle and there was a huge salmon die off. It impacted the river(s) for years. Who knows if that order killed all the salmon off for good and now they're just trucking hatchery salmon around from point A to B. I don't know because I don't keep up with this stuff but Bush did this and he did it so the "Poor Farmers" could get more water. State didn't try and stop it then either and don't tell me they couldn't of because they defy orders from the Fed's when they damn please. Quit kidding yourself the CA Lib's DO NOT care about the environment.
Anyway, have fun with this topic because i'm done. If you ever find a link to an article that shows Newsom or any other Liberal agency or organization filing some type of motion/suit to stop Trump's water waste that the Liberal's are vehemently against I will respond to that but you won't because they don't care but you always believed they did. Wake UP
Here's a link to the water levels, releases and a bunch of other stuff on the states lakes.

Re: Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
As a life long steelhead fisherman I understand water flowing to the sea. Without it salmon and steelhead will be in big trouble
Too bad they are already pretty well gone from about Humboldt county south.
Yes some runs are making a bit of a comeback
Trump talks about some valve they can turn to bring water down from Oregon?
What hell is he talking about?
A tunnel will let them sell more water to the south.
Have a look into the dam at milerton and the effect it had on the San Joaquin river salmon and steelhead
Check out why the delta Mendota canal was created
I’m not pretending to know what is best.
At some point I decided steelhead fishing is pretty well over in Ca except way up north and shifted to bass fishing figuring there will always be lakes and reservoirs to fish.
Some of these smaller creeks are never going to get a run again though the environmentalist keep trying to bring it back by keeping us out and no fishing allowed
Instead since the environment is changed and now better suited as a smallmouth bass fishery why not plant them?
Oh wait they are invasive. I say people are invasive

Re: Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
All the experts (not “The Libs” or other name-calling to imply superiority/inferiority of opinion) agree that this was a Trump-initiated stunt that hurt California. It’s quite black & white, night & day. (But, in keeping with previous post, I expect somebody to attack the source, instead of showing some humility and deferring to the experts

There are two major problems, water experts said: The newly released water will not flow to Los Angeles, and it is being wasted by being released during the wet winter season.
“They were holding extra water in those reservoirs because of the risk that it would be a dry summer,” said Heather Cooley, director of research for California water policy organization the Pacific Institute. “This puts agriculture at risk of insufficient water during the summer months.”
“This release is extremely concerning,” Cooley said. “It’s providing zero benefit and putting California farmers at risk of water supply constraints in the coming months.”

Re: Deliver more Central Valley water and eliminate rules
Are you disputing the story? You can find any number of sources reporting on this story. Try looking up the local news from the area. Trump posted about it himself on TruthSocial. The long-term water managers are quoted in these stories.
You guys love your “alternate facts”!
Like the other poster said, this is a black-and-white issue and your bias is clearly effecting your viewpoint on an issue you (as fishermen) should have an obvious standpoint on. Try imagining if Newsom had done this.
What does Ben Shapiro say? Facts don’t care about your feelings? A lot of you are letting your feelings rule over the clear facts of this story.
