BBT has a few tournaments this week. We have the Delta/ Wine on this Saturday and the Northern on Sunday both out of Big Break. It has come to my attention that the weather is a major factor on the West Delta looking at (windy app) it shows 12 to 25 wind gusts consistent in the 20s on the Delta. This is not safe!! I have arranged these events to be back to back so that the angler’s outlay is less. Having this kind of wind on the Delta is not safe. There are two major sandbars heading out of Big Break. This our first year of going out of this region. Alot of BBT anglers are not familiar with some of the hazards. I have to always side with caution for our anglers. I have looked at different locations on the Delta for this week and all are booked. Sunday is a little better but not much and because I want to keep them both back-to-back so anglers can get enough tournaments in to go to the Tournament of Champions. It is important for me to work with all of you.
So, with that said I've already contacted the Fish and Wildlife after discussing with the BBT board we are canceling both of these events and we will be rescheduling it. I have already submitted the dates back-to-back again so we won't lose the opportunity for some of you that need these events to go to the Tournament of Champions and Angler of the Year races. In this day and age, I cannot have an accident with our anglers. I will not take that risk. I hope you all understand this. I wanted to get to the anglers as quickly as I can for you that are coming from a long distance, so you will have time to cancel stay overs wherever they are.
