Rapala Fishing Sim: Your Newest App Addiction
Rapala Fishing Sim: Your Newest App Addiction
You’d be hard-pressed to find a tried-and-true angler who isn’t thinking at any given moment, “I’d rather be on the water.” It’s such a pervasive line of thought that it's become the stuff of home decor. Custom-made office hangings with the phrase remind our innies (anyone else watching Severance?) of brighter days with a rod in hand.
Naturally, the folks at Rapala® are pretty sympathetic to the angler who just can’t get enough. That’s why Rapala and GameMill are thrilled to announce that you can now enjoy fishing from anywhere and everywhere – even the good ole porcelain throne if that’s your thing – with the new Rapala Fishing Simulator Game.
“GameMill has been a great partner over the years, helping bring millions of fishing game downloads in the mobile app world,” said Matt Jensen, VP of Marketing for Rapala VMC® in the United States. “Launching this new game brings exciting adventures, locations, species, and more to fans that find joy in outdoor experiential games like Rapala Fishing.”
When you download the app on your phone, tablet, or laptop, pro angler Jacob Wheeler greets your greenie angler and helps you level up as you reel in bigger and mightier catches. You choose where to cast, then your view submerges underwater so you’re at eye level with the fish.
As players advance, they can unlock authentic Rapala gear based on real lures, rods, reels, and lines to entice bigger and badder fish.
Once players conquer Lake Winnebago (the first destination on the app), they can earn plane tickets to fly to other destinations such as: Florida, Big Bear Lake, Lake Minnetonka, and the Pantanal.
Anglers can even unlock rewards for completing quests such as catching seven fish of rare rarity, getting 12 perfect hooks, and catching four fish worth 1500 fishing points.
“In the game, players learn about upgrading tackle such as line, lures, and rods. You get to be a part of the process that helps catch more fish,” said Jensen. “We hope fans will enjoy trying to unlock new equipment and opportunities and get lost in the fun of mobile fishing.”
