Yep, so off to Ladds. Arrive around 11 am. 6th boat in line. That's good. Chat with Brett, Mike, Phil, and John and prep the boat. Brayden is real quiet for some reason, I mention to John that I left all my chatterbaits home and he lets me borrow an old one. We agree to meet after so I can return the bait. (more on that later 
) Lunch in the shade at the Park, and here comes Josh. Now 99.9% of the time when we use my boat, Josh is content with my back seat seat. When I return to the boat from lunch at the park, I see my back seat on the deck and Josh's butt seat in its place. I'm thinking wish he would have told me, I would've left it behind. Anyway we lo9ad up and off to the launch. Weigh in time 18:35 hrs (8:35 pm for you non military types 
). Off to Franks, gotta be fish there. First fish 1.4, next fish doesn't even weigh a pound so release. So far 1 chatterbait fish and one spinnerbait fish. Off to exploring. We find a tule patch in the middle of Franks and fish it. Water is dropping and you can clearly see previously occupied beds.....no fry, just bed remnants. Around the shallow we go when bump the motor his something. I'm thinking how many times have I run through Franks by this area and how close to catastrophe I've come. Oh well lets head back towards Ladds. Next stop we see large fish cruising but just can't get them to bite. After about 30 minutes we give up. (By the way there's new structure there. It's the kitchen sink we through at those fish ) Next stop the meat wall, Nada. OK off to Burns. Very shallow, and as we weave our way down the slough and bottom out a couple of times, I make a toss along the outside edge of the weed line and just about to finish the retrieve, I feel that familiar chatterbait thump and set. Josh asks for a net and I tell him no. Well I swing in this 2lb...................wait for it.................some sort of mist.............CAN (See photo) About this time Josh and I have had it, so off to Ladds to trailer the Ranger. Our weight tonight 4 lbs. Have to do better.Now to John waiting at his truck to return the bait. Boat after boat comes off the water, but no John. As they begin weigh in I'm getting a little concerned. Finally around 9 I call John, He tells me they're having a picnic and a grand time.......................on a sand bar
. I let Richard and Gerry know and its off to the barn.Congratulations to Phil and Aaron with 21.38. Took 16.02 to cash and an 8.22 BF Looks like were taking the Ranger next week too.
